The Colosseum has been a symbol of Rome since 80 AD, and today it’s a top monument in Italy. Some 50,000 spectators once gathered in the amphitheater’s tiered seats to watch gladiator games. Though parts of the original marble facade were pilfered over the years to build the likes of St. Peter's Basilica, the Colosseum remains remarkably intact 2,000 years later.

What are people saying about Colosseum

A very educational day of sight seeing
Our guide Ariana (Ari) was exceptionally well versed in the history of the colosseum and nearby ancient buildings and structures. The story she told was quite fascinating. She was very patient and had safety in mind first with the group of 25 tourists, for washroom breaks, drinking water, stairs, the sun and shade and the cobblestone pavements we walked on..

Amazing tour
Amazing way to see the Colosseum. We had headphones to hear our guide and got so much history and insights about what we were seeing. The backstage is amazing and one of the things the world can thank COVID for since it was only made possible when things were shutdown to renovate. Highly recommend. Bonus, our tickets are good for two days so we can return and see things we want another look at.

Great tour
So glad we booked this tour and avoided the long lines in the heat. Our guide Christina was friendly and knowledgeable about the sites and took good care of the groups safety and comfort. They give you an ear piece so you can hear the guide at all times. I was surprised to learn about how the Colosseum has been used over the years. Definitely bring a refillable water bottle and good walking shoes, there are places to refill your bottle along the way.
