The basics

The Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center is a great place to start your visit to Fairbanks. Visitor center staff provide advice and information on what to do and where to visit during your trip to Fairbanks and Arctic Alaska and you can also view films and browse the exhibits on Alaska’s natural and cultural history. A visit to the center is often included on Fairbanks sightseeing tours, along with other popular attractions such as the Museum of the North and Pioneer Park.

How to get there

The Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center is located at 101 Dunkel Street in downtown Fairbanks near the Chena River. Parking is available at the center, which is within walking distance of the Fairbanks Ice Museum and the Moose Antler Arch. The center is also accessible via the blue bus from the downtown transit center.

When to get there

The Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center is open daily, year-round. The center is open from 8am to 9pm during the summer months and 8am to 5pm during winter. The center features numerous special events and craft workshops so check the event schedule prior to your visit.
