The basics

The Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts and Crafts is situated within the enchanting Nejjarine Square (Place Nejjarine). The museum is divided into two sections: the ground floor, which houses a collection of Moroccan woodworking tools, and the first floor, which features a selection of traditional furniture. Among the museum’s impressive collection of relics are doors, prayer beads, musical instruments, and worn wooden boards that were used by students for Quran recitation.

When to get there

While the museum is open year-round, the best time to visit Fez is during the spring (March to May), when the average highs range from 69°F (21°C) to 80°F (27°C), and the fall (October and November), when the city sees average highs between 70°F (21°C) and 80°F (27°C). Admire the architecture

Originally built as a caravanserai in the 18th century, the intricate wooden façade of the building is a masterpiece in its own right. It's hard not to be captivated by the intricately carved cedarwood panels, the perfectly placed geometric shapes, and the stunning tilework that adorns the exterior.
