

Pueblo Canario
Pueblo Canario (Kanarisches Dorf) ist ein Komplex aus traditionell gebauten Inselhäusern rund um einen großen zentralen Platz in der grünen Umgebung des Parque Doramas in Las Palmas.
Teil des Pueblo Canario ist das Museo Néstor, das dem Leben und Werk des modernistischen Künstlers Néstor de la Torre gewidmet ist, der zusammen mit seinem Bruder Miguel in den 1930er Jahren das Pueblo entwarf. Zu den Höhepunkten zählen Nestors acht Wandgemälde, die sein Poema del Mar (1912-1923) illustrieren.
Innerhalb des Komplexes gibt es ein Museum, ein Restaurant und Kunsthandwerksläden sowie regelmäßige Folklore-Shows, die ein tieferes Verständnis der kanarischen Kultur und Küche fördern sollen.

When to Get There
The Pueblo Canario is located in a public park so it is always open. The Museo Nestor is open Tuesdays through Saturday from 10am to 7pm and Sundays from 10:30am to 2:30pm. Folk dance and live music shows take place in the Pueblo Canario square on Thursdays and Sundays. Check the tourist information center for current performance times.
