Das Colter Bay Visitor Center und das Indian Arts Museum sind von Mitte Mai bis Mitte Oktober geöffnet, wenn das Colter Village für den Winter geschlossen ist. How to get there

The Colter Bay Visitor Center is located above Colter Bay Marina, on the shores of Jackson Lake, 25 miles (40 kilometers) north of Moose. Take US 89, 191, or 287 to the Colter Bay Village sign, turn west, then continue 1 mile to reach the visitor center. The nearest major airport to the visitor center and park is in Jackson Hole.

When to get there

The visitor center is open from late spring to mid-fall, with extended hours over the summer. Free, ranger-led talks about the American Indian artifact displays are held every morning and afternoon. Over the summer, visitors can also view and purchase traditional and contemporary pieces of art through the American Indian Guest Artist Program.

Jackson Lake

The largest lake in Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Lake offers stunning views of the towering Teton Range, and water activities that include boating, sailing, paddling, windsurfing, fishing, and swimming. A few of the area’s hiking trails are Lakeshore Trail, Heron Pond and Swan Lake Loop, and Hermitage Point. There are 15 islands here, and it’s possible to camp at a primitive site on Elk Island. Several developed campgrounds can be found around the lake.
