Tasting experiences at the Alaskan Brewing Company introduce visitors to the history of Alaska’s brewing industry through a series of artifacts and collector beer bottles and cans. Guests can look in on the brewing and bottling operations before sitting down for a guided tasting of six 4-ounce (120-milliliter) samples brewed right in Juneau. You don’t have to sign up for a tasting to order your own flight or full pour from the tasting room, where you can also fill up crowler cans or growlers to take home with you.
The Alaskan Brewing Company is 5 miles (8 kilometers) north of downtown Juneau. If you’re not driving, you can catch a bus or taxi: bus #4 stops a 5-minute walk from the brewery.
The brewery is open daily throughout the year, with shorter hours during the winter (October to April). Guided tastings are only available during the summer (May to September).
Whether sitting for a guided tasting or sampling beers in the tasting room, visitors have a range of beers to choose from at Alaskan Brewing Company. The company’s eight flagship brews are almost always on tap, but the real draw are the specialty and seasonal beers that are often unavailable anywhere else.
