Guided tours of Lanzarote’s highlights—especially those that showcase buildings designed by national treasure, César Manrique—sometimes include a guided tour at LagOmar. You can opt for a group tour or have a more personalized experience on a private tour. Excursions that explore northern Lanzarote sometimes pair a visit to LagOmar with a boat trip to see the untouched island of La Graciosa—roughly a 30-minute journey from Órzola ferry port.

How to get there

LagOmar is located in the village of Nazaret in the center of Lanzarote, between Teguise and Tahiche. It takes roughly 15 minutes to drive there from the capital city of Arrecife, using the LZ-1 road, then the LZ-10 from Tahiche, and the Calle Las Perdices road in Nazaret. You can also get the 52 bus from Biblioteca Publica Vuelta in Arrecife to Nazaret Ida, but it’s around a 20-minute walk from Nazaret Ida bus stop to LagOmar.

When to get there

Thanks to Lanzarote’s mild climate, LagOmar is open for visitors year-round. If traveling independently and not on a guided tour, it's best to visit in the morning—close to opening time, or late in the afternoon. This helps you to avoid peak crowds, as the building has lots of narrow hallways and steps, so it can get crowded.

Top attractions associated with Manrique include his former home—the César Manrique House Museum, The Cactus Garden, and Jameos del Agua—a volcanic tube complex that’s home to a restaurant, auditorium, and rare albino crabs that live in a grotto lake.
