The Basics
Ceasar’s Palace was founded by entrepreneur Jay Sarno in 1966. It has almost 4,000 hotels rooms and is famous for its high-stakes gaming tables. The hotel has hosted many great names in entertainment and sport over the years, from Frank Sinatra to Cher to legendary boxing matches with the likes of Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. There’s a 24-hour poker room in the casino, along with all the traditional tables games—blackjack, craps, roulette—and over 1,000 slot machines.
Casino aside, visitors will find a head-turning array of amenities, including swimming pools modelled after Roman baths, a wide range of restaurants offering everything from authentic Chinese cuisine to a British-style pub, and an extensive shopping mall.

When to Get There
Las Vegas offers shows, entertainment and casino action all year round. The swimming pools at Ceasar’s Palace are heated and stay open all year round. Las Vegas can get very hot during high summer—visitors might find spring and fall temperatures more pleasant.
Visit Las Vegas’ Shark Reef Aquarium
If you’re travelling with kids, make sure you visit the Shark Reef Aquarium in Mandalay Bay (open to all, not just hotel guests). It’s the third-largest aquarium tank in the US, and is home to a resident population of sharks, rays, piranhas and green turtles among others. The immersive experience—visitors walk through the tank under a glass tunnel—provides an up-close encounter with the sea life.
