Hyde Park

Tampa, Florida, 33606

The basics

Strolling through the streets is a great way to admire the architecture of Tampa Hyde Park, which is one of the city's oldest neighborhoods. History buffs should also check out the Moorish-inspired, minaret-domed Henry B. Plant Museum, on the University of Tampa’s campus. Built in the late 20th century as the Tampa Bay Hotel, the museum’s exhibits focus on Gilded Age tourism to Tampa Bay and the hotel’s famous guests.

One of the region’s top shopping, dining, and entertainment venues, Hyde Park Village occupies several city blocks and is a destination unto itself. Check its calendar for events that range from live music and painting classes to a running club and fitness classes.

On this path, you can walk or pedal all the way to top destinations such as Ballast Point Park, the Channel District, and the Ybor City Landmark Historic District.
