On the weekend, Ventura Pier and Promenade tends to see large family crowds, so prepare for busy beaches and potentially long waits at nearby restaurants. If you can, visit this spot on a warm weekday before 5pm so as to avoid the after-work crowds. Summer is the best season to visit, especially if the beach is your main objective.

Downtown also has lively spots for karaoke, live music, and line dancing. Or, you can also enjoy the live music offered to visitors along the downtown strip on Friday nights in summer.
