Josiah, unser Pilot, war fantastisch und Justin, unser Hundetrainer, war sehr kompetent und erfahren. Unsere ganze Familie hat alles an diesem Ausflug geliebt und gesagt, es sei bei weitem das Beste, was sie in Alaska gemacht haben! Wir würden zurückkehren und es noch einmal tun, wenn wir könnten, der Hubschrauber, der Gletscher, die Hunde und die Menschen machten dies zu einem einmaligen Ereignis und etwas, das keiner von uns jemals vergessen wird ...

Gave it a 1 star because the Director was not polite during the course of the conversation and emails, but to her credit was nicer towards the end of the conversation. Wasn’t sure if I was going to do a review because I hate giving 1 stars, but 1 star service really was how I was treated. I noticed there were a cluster of earthquakes happening in the area. When I asked if they had communication with govt agencies like usgs to see if there was elevated risk, the comment that stood out most was “why did you come to Alaska if you were this worried about earth quakes?” They went on to say I had a better chance of a car accident from an earthquake on the road instead of having something happen in the air. I thought to myself… “yeah, you all are picking me up, in a shuttle to take me to a location an hour from anchorage that has had three magnitude 2.8 to 3.8 earthquakes in the last 12 hours… I decided not to sign the waiver because i didn’t want to trust them with my safety. I didn’t go on the tour and did not get a refund from them but did receive a refund back from elsewhere. Not a fan of how I was treated, but I hope they take my advice and connect more with agencies other than the FAA since they perform pickup and drop off, not just flights in the air. I also hope they train people on talking about safety to customers via the phone if earthquakes clusters are happening. I really do hope no one is ever hurt on any tour, especially if it can be avoided by checking in with other govt agencies as backup.

Raiyah, Thank you for your feedback. We like these types of honest reviews to help educate future bookers who will read this review. After looking into your many emails for a request to cancel with a refund, it looks like you were cancelling within the non-refundable cancellation period and you were upset about not being granted a refund. We encourage ALL guests to acquire trip protection/trip insurance as many operators do have non-refundable cancellation periods and this protection assures you a full refund for cancelling for any reason. The quotation "why did you come to Alaska if you were worried about Earthquakes" is not accurate looking at the email exchanges. This seems to be exaggerated, the history was as follows: You requested to cancel and be refunded due to your concern of clustering earthquakes. We replied letting you know this cancellation was within the non-refundable period and we would cancel and we prompted you to contact your travel insurance company for refund options. You replied to this that you didn't feel this was a good stance to take, you would not be signing any waiver required to participate and you were upset we would not even offer a partial refund. At that point we referred you to Viator as they are who you originally booked through and they are the company that your credit card was charged by. We hope the rest of your Alaskan vacation turned out well! For future bookers feel free to contact us at 907-272-7777 with any questions about our 100% safety record or processes for force-majeure events.

Adventure of a lifetime! I went with an elderly member of my family and because of the kindness and accommodations of the Tour company, even he was able to enjoy the entire tour so I think this is a 'must do' for everyone. From the helicopter pilots to the dog sled drivers, the experience was best in class. Highly recommend!

Cover up the chains.

Great experience. One piece of feedback to elevate aesthetic. Is there an opportunity to cover up the chains attached to the dogs. Maybe wrap them in a softer looking material. The chains connected to the dogs are a little bit of a downer and it makes me worried for the dogs’ safety. We had a blast overall. Thank you.

The helicopter ride was the highlight although mushing was a blast on the glacier. This is not a sled ride like on Mendenhall where track is much larger but glacier is much smaller and people were top notch as we rode with Idiorod dogs.

From start to finish everything went as planned. The staff was highly professional from the moment we were picked up in Anchorage, to check in, the helicopter ride, and dog sledding. Learning about the dogs and the handlers was an awesome experience. Had a great Navy Vet who was living on the glacier and took us on a fun and informative sled ride. Our Helicopter Pilot was Shane Cottom who was very safe and fun. This group is organized, professional, and safe.

Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful! We had a beautiful day weather wise. Once the dogs saw they were getting ready to prep, all the dogs wanted to be picked. Not all go out at the same time. I had a great time and highly recommend to anyone on the fence.

Greatest Alaskan Experience

We did a 7-day cruise with excursions. This tour was booked outside of the cruise excursions and was by far the greatest experience of all the excursions. The helo flight up was breath taking (even from a back seat perspective). It was great experiencing the different positions on a dog sled while hearing the musher’s commentary about the dogs life. Return flight got to fly over the larger glacier and saw some wild life (moose in this instance). The only drawback is the same situation with all Alaskan tours (weather), helicopters can not fly in low visibility (fog/heavy rain). Luckily we were able to complete this fabulous tour.

Amazing experience, from the ground crew (who really try to accomodate everyone when plans need to change) , to the dog sledding crew (Gabby and Ben were awesome guides!), going through the great views and smooth helicopter ride in the hands of Bryan. This trip is a must!
