Good budget option to see highlights

Overall, our experience was satisfactory. The facilities on the boat (MS Royal Viking) was good (the boat looked better than a lot of the other boats we saw), wide variety of food options (buffet) and all the stops/tours were coordinated well. The reason for not giving 5 stars is that we experienced some issues: 1. In general, we found that there was not enough time to explore the sites on our own after the explanation by the guide. Often we would only get 10-15 minutes, which is way too short to enjoy the sites and take pics. Especially the Abu Simbel visit was disappointing because of that. We spent 6 hours driving from and to Aswan and barely spent 1 hour onsite (effectively giving us 10 minutes to explore each of the two temples on our own). 2. Often sites were very crowded. While this is not something the tour is directly responsible for, it seemed to us that all cruise boats were doing the exact same itinerary, causing everyone to visit the same sites at the same time. Varying/staggering visits between boats would probably give a better experience. 3. Communication with staff on the boat was complicated. People at the reception often did not understand us well (lack of English skills), leading to misunderstandings. On a few occasions the guide did not know that our family was coming on the tour (once they had even left already and had to come back for us). Also on the last day, with the hot air balloon trip, we had asked the night before if we should check out in the morning or if we could wait until after we came back from the tour that day. They had told us that we could check out in the afternoon after the tour, but when we came down the next morning (at 3:50am) they told us that we were supposed to check out of the rooms now, and we had to go back and pack everything rushed, causing stress and a delay with the departure of our tour. On a more positive note, the staff at the buffet and cleaning staff were excellent, no problems there. 4. Quality of the guides varied (we had a different guide on each location). Sometimes English was not great, and sometimes they were rushing or appeared less knowledgeable. In some occasions we would have been better off exploring on our own and reading the information signs on the site. Positive exception was the guide in Luxor (Heba), she was great! Overall, we believe this is a good budget option to explore the sites around Aswan and Luxor, but if you really want to enjoy and explore the different sites, it might be better to arrange a private tour and avoid the cruise boats. This obviously comes at a different price tag so it really depends on your budget.

L'organisation je l'ai trouvé bien, le personnel super agréable et gentils, la propreté de A à Z, la nourriture excellente, vraiment le meilleur séjour en Égypte c'était dans cette croisière. Et contrairement à ce qu'on pense, les guides étaient très pro, et on nous a même pas laissé le temps de visiter les boutiques heheh mais c'est ça que j'ai apprécié, ils nous on donné plus de temps à nous expliquer à nous apprendre la histoire que d'aller faire du shopping, j'en vous suit reconnaissante.

Nuestra experiencia en el crucero fue diferente a como esperabamos, los guías fueton excelentes Mohamed en Aswan, Macmud en Luxor y otros que nos acompañaron a lo largo del viaje tratando de ayudarnos en los inconvenientes del viaje, un crucero hermoso en instalaciones y servicios pero que lamentablemente se averió en el trayecto apens el segundo día de viaje, to ra un caos y lamentablemente el idioma fue una barrera, un pasajero egipcio que hablaba español nos ayudo a entender lo que pasaba, los encargados del barco, buscaban soluciones, un segundo día de viaje estresado y cansado donde tuvimos que dejar el barco hacer el recorrido de mas de 4 horas en autobús hasta llegar a tomar otro barco para dormir y llegar a Luxor, no pudimos visitar Edfu, tampoco el globo aerostático se pudo hacer por razones de clima, en fin una experiencia un poco atropellada pero que pudimos terminar.
