Werde nie wieder bei Viator buchen. Die Kreuzfahrt wurde kurz nach der kostenlosen Stornofrist vom Veranstalter abgesagt. Der Ersatz war eine Tour mit dem Auto ohne Preisnachlass wegen nicht erbrachter Leistungen. Man hat uns angeboten kostenlos zu stornieren, wir sollten uns aber mit Viator in Verbindung setzen, um das bereits bezahlte Geld zurück zu bekommen. Hat schon mal jemand versucht, mit einer dieser Buchungsplattformen wie Viator, booking und wie sie alle heißen, Kontakt aufzunehmen? Unmöglich!! Ich sehe in diesem Vorgehen eine Betrugsmasche, um Geld zu kassieren. Wenn man es zurück haben will, stellt man sich sicherheitshalber tot. Also Hände weg von solchen Buchungsplattformen!!!

Die Reise war ein tolles Erlebnis mit vielen spannende Momente in die Ägyptische Geschichte und Kultur. Gute Organisation und sehr freundliches Personal auf dem Schiff wie auch die gesamte Crew. Wir erwarteten wie auch andere, dass wir Abu Simbel mit dem Schiff anfahren, doch dies war leider wegen dem Staudamm verständlicherweise nicht möglich. Nehmt bitte zur Kenntnis dass die Ausflüge mit Minibus. Kutsche und Boot durchgeführt werden. Unser Guide Mustafa Ragab war excelent, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Er hat es vertanden mit uns zu kommunizieren und ist auf unsere Fragen und Anfragen immer eingegangen. Das Schiff wird als 5 Sterne Schiff angeboten ist aber für unsere Verhältnisse (Europa und Westen) keine 5 Sterne aber in Ägypten ist es mit den Hotels genau so. Ich glaube hier haben wir Erwartungsdifferenzen. Dach Sauber war es! Die Freundlichkeit der Besatzung und der Ägypter gleicht dies aber aus. Ich kann die Reise jedem empfehlen ihr müsst einfach wissen, dass hier nicht die gleichen Standards herschen wie im Westen oder Europa. Die Luftballonfahrt war der Hammer da wurden wir positiv überrascht. Bitte nehmt zur Kenntnis, dass ihr immer früh austehen werdet damit das Programm eingehalten werden kann. Danke für die spannende Zeit gute Organisation und den Freundlichen Guide welcher uns begletet hat. Nicht vergessen und zur Kenntnis nehmen dass die Leute in Ägypten auf uns (Tourismus & Trinkgeld) angewiesen sind.

You get what you paid - zwischen Erst- und Drittklassig

Im Gegensatz zum erstklassigen Reiseführer in englischer Sprache, der uns fachlich kompetent und fesselnd erzählend die Geschichte Ägyptens näher gebracht hat, war das Schiff eher drittklassig. Die Kabinen waren abgelebt und das Essen nicht sehr vielseitig. Die Sterne für das Schiff müssen wohl vor Jahren vergeben worden sein. Da hilft nur wenig, dass die Besatzung mit Freundlichkeit alles gab, um von den Unzulänglichkeiten abzulenken. Der Preis war angemessen, da günstiges Angebot - you get what you paid ;-)

Do not book this listing in vaitor. Noor tour the operator of this listing is dishonest and untrustworthy. I booked this tour as a solo traveler and was treated unfair. I got the worst room possible, lower bottom of ship and smell moldy. I complained and nothing was done because their excuse was it was fully booked. Im now in the middle of disputing this. This is not a 5 star cruise like it listed, more like 2 stars. I wish I can post photo of the room that come with this cruise so everyone can see. It's so bad. Avoid this listing. Honestly my advice is explore explore Luxor and Aswan yourself and avoid the cruise down the Nile. Most the temple you will see in the middle is not that great. Only abu Simbel and Luxor temple is the most beautiful. The other will just look similar. You will save more and see the best view.

Disappointing, only the wonders of Egypt are able to save

For me and my mother, this cruise presents several problems, its attention is not focused on the tombs, temples and natural beauties of Egypt, but on extorting the tourist wasting time in parties and unnecessary luxuries, while the important thing, which would be ancient Egypt, stays in the background with rushed visits and there is little time to explore the wonders of Egypt on your own. The tipping policy seems fair at first, you are asked to leave a tip in an envelope to be divided among the entire crew, however the envelope has your cabin number, which made us wary of leaving little or no tip. I also point out the lack of education of some crew members and the cleanliness of the room, which at most can be considered mediocre. The cruise is indeed very interesting, but not for the cruise itself, but for the wonders of Egypt. The guide did a satisfactory job, however on the last day of the tour, the busiest, he stopped at a gallery that features stone products, losing more than 1 hour and a half.

Scenic cruise down Beautiful Nile with Amazing tour guide

The cruise was peaceful and relaxing, with beautiful scenery as we cruise down River Nile. The room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. The food served was a mixed of local delights and intercontinental cuisine and always plenty. The visits to the temples were well organized by the local guide who always put our interests first. Our guide gave us educated information about the different sites and tips to navigate the local places for produce, gifts and photography. He was very helpful and this trip would not have been possible without him. This river cruise is a highlight of our Egypt trip and I would definitely recommend doing a river cruise again.

Nile exploration

Mahmoud made this an incredible experience! I was a little scared to book this, based on other reviews, but ended up loving it. I will describe the good and the bad. First of all, you have to understand you are paying $355 for a 4 day cruise, including room, food and tours (Entry to sites is extra, around 55 dollars). That being said, the boat is nowhere near a 5 start, at least to American standards, but it was good for the price. The shower was warm and room spacious for a cruise. The room could absolutely have been cleaned better, the bathroom was dirty and when my phone fell under the bed, I wish I hadn't looked there. What I was expecting to be bad, the food, ended up being very good. Every night was a little similar, but everything was delicious with plenty of options. We arrived late to Aswan, and the driver waited for us over an hour. Since we wouldn't have time to eat prior to the tours for that day, they prepared for us a lunch box and took us directly to the sightseeing sites to catch up with our group. Everything was well explained by Mahmoud and gave us time to explore each site and take pictures. Each day he would send us the plan for the day along with times. Please keep in mind this is a VERY high paced experience, unless you skip tours and decide to stay in the boat. Each day is a very early start. The only tour that I was let down by, was Abu Simblel. We started the journey very very early, drove over 3 hours to the site. It took the tour guide (Not Mahmoud), Over 30 minutes to get our tockets. After explaining everything, we only had about 45 minutes to explore and unfortunately we could not go inside both Temples. Instead he should have given the explanation in the bus, before or after the site. If I would have know I would have skipped the explanation and go inside the Temples. The highlight of the trip was the hot air balloon. It was incredible to see the sunrise of the Temples. Just know that it is another 3am day, and after continuing to the Lixor sites, it will be an exhausting day. On the last day, after Luxor our flight depsrted at 1am. Mahmoud accommodated a day arrange transportation at 9pm. They also allowed us to wait on the cruise till them. The sites you see are unreal, lots of learning and sightseeing. I would 100% recommend this to everyone 👌

Beshoy has been an amazing guide! The hot balloons has been one of the best experience of my life. All the temple are simply astonishing. Sailing the Nile is unique. Highly recommended but do not expect a 5 European cruise stars concept.

Excellent cruise tour

Best cruise coupled with several tours. The cruise (Blue Shadow) is excellent, room is very good with wide balcony with daily room service , food onboard is great with several options and the staff went above and beyond to cater my kids. The sun deck is perfect with excellent glimpses of the Nile surroundings. The staff on board are very friendly and accommodating. The cruise actually sails on a bit on day 2 and most of day 3. Coming to the tours, as many stated and clearly mentioned in itinerary the tours are hectic and need a early rise (this is the only way if you want to cover most of the places). Our tour organizer/guide Mahmoud is excellent and provided very detailed explanation of all the temples. All the tours start with his explanation about the place followed by 30 min to 1 Hr of free roaming abound place for photos and viewing. The communication right before the tour, form pickup till the drop off is excellent. We paid the entry fee for all our tours (around usd $65) in advance so the guide can get the tickets as a group and save time. Overall this one of the best cruise trips and big shoutout to Mahmoud. I would definitely recommend this cruise.

Great experience at Nile cruise with hot air balloon

The stay at cruise, temple tours with hot air balloon was awesome. Don't expect the rooms at cruise to be 5 star, rather I would say it is more 3 or 4 star, whereas the hospitality was nothing less than 5 star. All other things were great and the tour is not complete without Mr. Bee (Bishoy) who made it fun and memorable with his detailed description of all the temples which we visited in Luxor and Aswan.

Cruise was fantastic, staff was wonderful, very nice, food was good. Every night there was an entertainment event planned for the guests. Pick up and drop off was well organised and ontime. Totally hassle free. We arrived around 11 am, so the checkin was a bit delayed. We checked in around 12.30 pm. Our tour guide Michael was fantastic. Great English. Explains this with a bit of humour making it super fun and exciting. Advised us throughout the journey what to do and what not to do, which was super helpful. What you can expect from the agenda, The day you check-in in Aswan, Afternoon you will do Aswan high dam, Philae temple and Nubian village. If you go during Jan, the sunsets quite early and by the time you reach the Nubian village it will be dark. Also that night the boat will continue to stay in Aswan. So you can go out of the ship and take a stroll, get a simcard or water bottles if you need Next day, you will leave early morning at 4 am to Abu Simbel. Staff will arrange for a breakfast box. You will return around 1.30 pm and boat will start sailing. The afternoon you will be free and you can relax, in the evening you will reach Kom Ombo D3, morning you will do Esna or Edful temple, you will leave around 8 or 9 am. And continue to sail and reach Luxor, once you reach Luxor you will do Karnak and Luxor temple. D3 night boat will stay Luxor, so if you want to take a stroll, book your gobus tickets, you can do that D4 it's another early morning you will checkout fro. your room at 4 am and leave the luggage in the boat and will leave for the balloon ride, staff will pack your breakfast. After the balloon ride you will do Colossi of Memnon, Alabaster factory, Valley of the kings, Temple of Hatshepsut and will be back in the boat by 1 pm and the wonderful 4 days are over. I am sharing this details, so that you can plan your onward journey from Luxor better. Overall it was a fantastic experience and highly recommend it, and you will be lucky if you get Micheal as your guide.
