Great transfer between Aswan & Luxor w/ stops at Kom Ombo & Edfu

We had a great experience transferring from Aswan and Luxor with stops at Kom Ombo and Edfu. Our driver, Matini, was on time, very friendly, let us determine how long we wanted at each temple, and even treated us to some delicious local falafel for lunch! His car was very comfortable, had plenty of space for us and our luggage, and made the transfer from Aswan to Luxor relaxing, fun, and easy. We highly recommend booking this service if you're looking to check out Kom Ombo & Edfu on your way to Luxor.

This was a very long journey left at 4pm and arrived at 8.30pm. Aware there are 2 routes however our driver said that only Egyptians can use the quicker route? The route we took is a rough journey as going through towns, lots of stops and starts FYI if you get travel sick Otherwise the journey was fine, picked up and dropped off appropriately.

Driver (Mr Mina) drove us from Aswan to Luxor was very friendly and kind with us. Even though there was lot of speed breakers and check post he drove us comfortable, he took us to Edfu temple well on time and we entered Luxor well on time.

Driver didn't speak much English but was friendly and professional. He drove safely on the very rural and at times hectic roads. Stops at each site are worth it. No need for a guide but your will be heckled just like everywhere else in Egypt.

The car transfer from Aswan to Luxor was perfect for us. It was a long day by the time we arrived in Luxor, but we were very happy to be able to make the stops at Kom Ombo and Edfu, and our guide Mahmoud was so knowledgeable, easy going, personable, and unassuming. It was clear that he has a true love for Egyptology. We were lucky to have him and wish he would have been able to guide us on future tours.

Better tour guides are necessary

We booked the transfer from Aswan to Luxor including 2 stops, Kom Ombo and Edfu, with tour guides. The company forgot to send the guide for Kom Ombo, and hired someone at the last minute. He was visibly bored and gave explanations in a hurry. In Edfu, the situation was even worse. The guide barely greeted us. He gave very, very poor explanations . We certainly missed a lot, because the temples themselves were really worth visiting. As for the driver, he was punctual, nice and deserved a 5-star rate.

A different perspective

Mahmoud was a great guide and Yasser was an amazing driver. You definitely get a different perspective taking a car from Aswan to Luxor instead of the boat. All in all it was a little over 8 hours including the stops at two temples along the way. Definitely recommend getting the Egyptologist (Mahmoud was ours) for the trip and get entry tickets for the temples. We left Aswan around 9:00 am and had very few people at the temples as the boat tours were already gone by the time we got there or were not there yet.

Pick up was on time, and to our surprise, the vehicle was a full van with capacity for 6 or 7 people. We were a party of just 2, so the trip was very comfortable. Our driver also stopped at two temples along the way, which really helped break up the long trip and gave us a great opportunity to explore places we'd have otherwise missed.

Our driver was friendly and an excellent, safe driver. He did not speak a lot of English but that was not a problem at all. We did not opt for the guide, and we didn't feel we missed out, however, I am sure a guide would not be a waste. The manager or owner checked in with us multiple times on the drive to make sure we were comfortable and happy. While the Nile cruises seem to be a nice way to travel, there are so many of them and personally, I feel it would be a waste of time to go to one site along the way to Luxor/Aswan each day. We easily did both sites and were not rushed. The bonus was since we weren't with all of the cruise passengers, we basically had the sites to ourselves. That alone to me is worth booking with Nile Holiday.

Très bien, le chauffeur nous a apporté de aswan à luxor et fait l'arrêt gratuit au temple de kom ombo et Edfu. C'était vraiment bien. Ça a prit 6h30 de temps pour se rendre de notre hôtel à Aswan à celle de Luxor incluant la visite des 2 temples. Le chemin était pas mal rough alors on était quand même content d'avoir une van pour nous transporter. Merci

Muy comodo el viaje. un poco cansado porque a pesar de no ser lejos, el camino hay muchos paradas de los policias que solo verifican que todo va bien y que me parece excelente. porque brindan mucha seguridad. Pero no se puede ir rapido por la carretera, lo que lleva a un viaje de 7 horas. pero vale la pena si quieres conocer los templos que se encuentran en el camino de Aswan a Luxor.
