Tolle Stadtrundfahrt

Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit mit dieser Stadtrundfahrt und dem Stopp der Rumbrennerei. Rum ist köstlich. Mach das auf jeden Fall nochmal!

Most Belize excursions focus on cave rafting, diving and snorkeling. We preferred to enjoy a less extreme excursion. This city tour was perfect for our group of four. Another couple joined us and this small group of 6 hopped in a van and enjoyed a driving tour of Belize. Our guide has lived there all his life. Naturally, he was very knowledgeable and friendly! There was not a question about the region he could not answer. A little confusion locating the tour operator. We thought they would be waiting at our tender dock. Our guide was outside the terminal wearing a red t-shirt printed with VIV.

There really is not much to see in Belize. You can see all the sites walking round the town. Disappointed with rum factory and museum as no explanation given about how rum is made etc. did rum tasting which cost extra bit was good. Our driver was very knowledgeable.

You should know that Belize for cruise tourists is just mainly a small boardwalk type touristy shopping area. When we ventured past that…security told us to go back🤷🏼‍♀️, We were not sure what to expect regarding the Viator tour we had booked. We then received a txt saying “our V.I.V. Tour guide was ready and waiting for us streetside of terminal 1.” We walked out, again, and found our guide, Narcisco, holding a ViV sign! We were a bit concerned, since we were expecting a Viator tour rep…and a group…but it as just Narcisco and us, in his van! Yes…we asked questions…and he proceeded to show us ID and our Viator confirmation in his phone. We later found out from other travelers, that Belize does not allow outside entities(information from their tour guide), so this gives the locals the jobs! Long story…short….although a bit harrowing at first, we did our due diligence….and this turned into one of the best tours we’ve ever done. Narcisco drove us around the town, talked of all the local customs, places, schools, churches, cuisine, parks, and talked proudly of the rebuilding efforts, and reclamation of lands since the extensive damaging hurricane that devastated the area in November! And the Rum distillery and tasting….fantastic! All thanks to Narcisco! 👍

Our driver was enthusiastic and articulate with amazing knowledge of his country… not mention a sense of humor! He adjusted to our schedule and needs and would have brought us to the beach if the rain had not intervened Rum tasting was good… two for $1 tasting

+ Great Guide - extremely knowledgeable about the city and it’s history. Took his time so we could see things and did a great job! - the van was hot- poor air conditioning and the Rum factory was not included in the tour- I think it may have been closed.
