Afternoon tour was fantastic

This tour was fantastic. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable. Even the city tour had so much history and depth that I'm thankful we got to experience it. This was by far my favorite tour that we had. We went in the afternoon tour and we had the ruins to ourselves since tourists are typically from cruise lines and take the morning tours.

The afternoon tour was incredible! Nobody else was there & our tour guide was the best! Norman was knowledgeable about everything in the Mayan city. He answered every question & took his time showing us around & teaching us about the Mayan culture. Being at Altun Ha during the sunset was unforgettable! I would definitely go back or tour other ruins with Norman

Omar our tour guide was amazing. So friendly and very informative. We chatted non stop about everything! The tour of Belize City was excellent. We made a few stops to try local food etc. On to Altun Ha which was a fabulous site. Omar is well versed in explainIng so many details about the site. It was wonderful. We really enjoyed his company!

House Hunters or City Tour????

I could not figure out if I was on International house hunters or a city tour!?!?!? Waste of money as we drove around the neighborhoods letting us know about who was living in homes and what homes were just built. It was very depressing. I didn’t learn anything about the city just very disappointed. The Altun Ha Mayan Ruin tour was the only best part.

Hi Tasha, We are very sorry that you didn't enoy the City tour. Please note that this Altun Ha tour came with a free basic City tour driving out out of the city and then the other portion coming back into the city. I believed you should have choosen only the City tour where you would have gotten an in depth history of Belize City. All of our tour guides are very knowledgeable and they educate all of our guests about what they are seeing while on tour.
Omar as a guide is worth it!!!!!

The tour with Omar was excellent. The individualist attention was very nice. The background on the area we visited was nice.

Awful. The boss said we had to wait for nearly an hour, without seating, in heat and humidity for one couple to arrive. 4 extra passengers (not on the original list?) arrived first at the mini bus somehow & filled 2 of the bench seats. There were still 10 more of us to fit in, including a lady with a stroller (booked). That was an impossibility! When this was mentioned to our 'guide', he became angry with us ... None of this was our fault as we had been waiting quietly until half the bus was suddenly filled! The atmosphere was toxic so we left . We would like a full refund as our day was totally ruined through no fault of ours

Hi Janet, We thank you for your review and we do apologies for the experience you had encountered. However, from the start of the day when we had spoken to your husband and explained to him that we had to wait for some other guests that had booked the same tour, he had an attitude and also with our Tour Guide. Your hasband was the only one that had and issue and was disrespecting our tourguide which we do not tolerate. You and uour family decided not to go on the tour and you all left. Therefore no refund will be granted to you.

Our tour guide was so knowledgeable. He thoroughly explained everything. He took our pictures and I took a picture with a baby crocodile. I would definitely recommend. Had a sign with my name on it. And shout out to Marcia for being patient with us!!!!

Alicia was very well spoken and did a great job informing us of the current political and environmental realities of the country. She was very well versed in the history of Altuna Ha. She also went out of her way to drop us off at the airport when we were done.

We had a wonderful time with Omar during our half day guided tour to Altun Ha Mayan Ruin and Belize City. Omar was very knowledgeable and extremely engaging. Wearing a mask and curfew did not detract from the fun of the tour.

Omar gives a great tour

On Dec 3 our group of 4 took a private tour of Altun Ha & Belize City with Omar Rodriguez through Smart Travel. We booked the tour a few days prior online through Viator at $70 per person. We received an email with specific directions on how to meet him and that he would be wearing a yellow polo and holding a sign with my name. We found him immediately. We were a bit concerned because our tour was booked for 8:30am, and even though we had taken the first avaiable tender from the ship to the port in Belize City, it was about 9am before we were able to meet him. We were happy to see him waiting for us! The vehicle was acceptable and drove us through Belize City, provided history of the country. He stopped to buy us plantain chip snacks before heading to the Altun Ha Mayan Ruins site. Omar walked with us through the site providing information and encouragement while climbing the temples. He was fun, friendly and we felt very comfortable with him. On the way back he gave us water and punch to drink. We really enjoyed our time with Omar and learning more about Belize and its history. I'd recommend this tour. Bring bug repellent for Altun Ha... the jungle mosquitos are hungry.

This tour was well worth it. We really enjoyed our tour around Belize and getting to see the Mayan Ruins was very special for me. I enjoy watching shows on tv regarding the different ruins. So I had the pleasure of getting to go and see it in person. So awesome...Even my granddaughter enjoyed it. She even climbed to the top of the highest Ruin taking pictures...
