Ich war begeistert von der Tour. Schon die Bootsfahrt zum Tempel selbst war ein Erlebnis. Javier hat uns verschiedene Pflanzen gezeigt, Informationen über die am Flussufer lebenden Menoniten gesprochen und wir haben sogar Fledermäuse gesehen. Die Anlage liegt inmitten des Duschungels und war sehr beeindruckend, insbesondere der Jaguartempel und der Maskentempel. Es gibt auch ein kleines Museum, was viel über die Geschichte und dieTraditionen der Maya berichtet. Vielen Dank nochmal an den Anbieter. Das Paar, mit denen ich auf die Tour gehen sollte, hatte am Abend zuvor abgesagt, sodass ich allein gewesen und die Tour für mich teurer geworden wäre. Der Anbieter hat mich dann einer anderen Gruppe zugeordnet, sodass für mich keine weiteren Kosten entstanden sind. Sehr kundenfreundlich.

Toller Reiseleiter, tolles homemade Lunch, gute Stories über die Maya. Aber die Speedbootfahrt war nur "Fun" kaum ein Halt um zB Schildkröten zu sehen. Nicht als "wildlifetour" beschreiben, es ist kommerz, aber eine interessante Tour

You did also comment "Don't describe it as a wildlife tour" - but in fact, we absolutely didn't! We don't believe in falsely advertising any of our tour experiences. We believe in setting the right expectations for our guests. We describe our boat ride as "one hour scenic boat ride" where our visitors can see "many species of riverside plants as well as a large variety of birds" and make no mention of reptiles, mammals or other sighting possibilities. We love when our guests can see crocodiles, monkeys, turtles, and peccaries - but would rather have that as the occasional surprise rather than build those expectations! Please reconsider your rating and replace our 5th star - we focus on delivering the maya temple experience!!

Coconut Pete was a great guide. The site is so beautiful and out of the way. The boat ride there was amazing. You basically have free access to these temples. The site is huge and only a small portion of it is developed. The howler monkeys there were a kick.

What a fun day

We LOVED our tour guide, Coconut Pete! He knew a lot about the birds and other animals that we saw on the boat ride and pointed out things we would not have noticed otherwise. Then once we got to the temples, he was super knowledgeable of the history there. And lunch was even tasty! We saw a couple toucans, some monkeys, some raccoon relatives that I forget the name of, and a million birds. It was such an incredibly fun day that we’ll always remember. Oh and lunch was even tasty!

Amazing Tour!

This tour exceeded expectations. Our guide, Coconut Pete, was amazing at spotting animals along the boat route and providing detailed information about Lamanai. I has so many questions about this site and he throughly answered all of them. The ruins were stunning and it felt as if we had the site to our small group. The food was delicious too! I cannot recommend this tour enough!

Really enjoyed the boat ride up the river. So beautiful. The Lamanai temple sites were amazing. Wish we knew the high tower was under construction and would not be able to be climbed. The lunch was ok. Guides were great and a lot of fun! Thank you!

History and wildlife

Enjoyable day, cruising down the river with guides who know exactly where and what to look for when it comes to wildlife. The temples were pretty cool and the jungle amazing. Lunch was good, and hearing the howler monkeys was something else. Just make sure to put on plenty of sunscreen!

An unbelizeable adventure

Coconut Pete was a blast and had so much knowledge on the River, Mayan culture, and the history of Belize. My brother and I were birders and managed to find 20 species and bats along the River. The tour brought Mayan civilization to life, and honestly was one of our favorite parts of our trip.

The trip to Lamanai may have been a long one but it was definitely worth it. The drive up river goes by quickly as you try and spot wildlife, sometimes stopping to get a closer look. The site itself is very impressive and the guides (we had Vladimir) are great at giving you all the information and stories behind the place. Being able to climb one of the temples is fantastic as well, and we were essentially the only ones in the whole place (10 in total). Highly recommended!

Lamanai was an incredible experience! From the river boat ride, to seeing the ruins, to eating a delicious lunch - it was an overall great day! Ignacio Jr. and Ignacio Sr. were both very kind and informative. My husband and I learned so much and had a blast!
