Wir liebten den Spaziergang. Es war sehr interessant und informativ. Wir dachten eigentlich, dass das Essen besser sein wird, da es ein Essensspaziergang war. Stattdessen bekamen wir eine sehr salzige Suppe mit etwas Brot. Der Führer war fantastisch und sehr kompetent.

Wir waren enttäuscht von dieser Food-Tour, die keine echte war. Für den Preis haben wir nur eine Suppe und ein paar Stücke Trockenfisch gegessen. Zum Glück war unser Guide super zu komponieren. Sie war so energisch und pationiert. Es war eher eine kulturelle Tour als eine Food-Tour.

The tour was fantastic! However, I would recommend bringing a water bottle with you because you get 2 food items at the beginning of the tour and no beverages. I had to run off and quickly buy a bottled water. Other than that, it was informative and the food tastings were wonderful.

We would have given the guide a tip. However at the last stop he disappeared. He did seem knowledgeable. The food was plentiful to be considered a meal. While it did not include the brown cheese, the food choices were fairly healthy.

Wanted more cuisine, less standing in one spot.

I was expecting to see more of local cuisine and customs, including the fish market. It was difficult to locate the starting point (the tourist center is not well marked) and locals were happy to try to help but didn’t know where the tourist center was. If we knew it was near the fish market we’d have had little trouble. I had some difficulty hearing the guide and we would stand in one place (sometimes crowded) for longer than necessary. We dropped out about halfway through.

Hi Nancy. Thank you for your review! We can understand that the touristinformation can be challenging to find at the moment. The building is covered in scaffolding and the sign/logo is hard to see. We encourage our guest to use an online map to find the address for the meeting point, the Tourist-information in Bergen. The Food and culture walk is combined in a way so that we can both present some of our traditional food- together with a walk through the oldest parts of the city- in addition to some of the highlights. We appreciate the feedback and when it comes to your difficulty hearing well, we will take that into consideration for our future tours. We are sorry to hear that you dropped out halfway. Bergen Base Camp great, Viator not so much.

Food and culture walk was fantastic. Great guides and information. Marianne and Mathias provided insights and funny stories. However, I would not book through Viator again and would recommend booking directly with the tour operator. I made a mistake on my booking submission with Viator and they wouldn’t refund me or respond to my emails. So again huge Plus for Bergen Base Camp, Con was to deal with Viator.
