A very cold but clear day, a warm bum and a cozy blanket. John, punting while giving a brilliant commentary with humour. Stunning architecture and Canada geese. What a great way to see a bit of Cambridge, even in winter.

Jakub is an amazing Punter, has vast knowledge about the history of all the buildings, plus humour and charisma. Also allowed me to have a go at punting myself and gave some tips on how to push and steer it. Amazing experience! Totally recommend it.

We had an great experience with Rutherford's Punting. We didn't have any issue finding the meeting point and the price was reasonable compared to other similar punting tours. Our tour guide George was great and definitely would recommend it.

I booked this tour for my partner, for his birthday. We were really looking forward to it. While queuing up, loads of people were sent away because the boat for our time was double booked. Luckily we were able to go on ours (3:20pm). The atmosphere wasn’t great as the people that couldn’t get on the boat understandably were angry. When we got on the boat out tour guide told us, “i have been working since 8:30am without a break, so if i am a bit quite that is why”. A bit quite was an understatement. He told us absolutely nothing about our surroundings. The only thing we did hear from him, was moaning and sarcastic comments to the other tour guides getting in his way with their boats. He cracked a couple of jokes about them. Other than that, we were told nothing. We asked him while on the boat if he is going to tell us anything. He said…”you might have not heard me at the start, i said i might be quite because i have been working since 8:30am without a break”. We feel like we missed out on some great information all because he was over worked and tired! Not really fair if you ask me. It was to the point where we were trying to listen to other peoples tour guides just so we could hear a few things. Absolutely disgusting, we told him it was shocking! He didn’t seem to care in the slightest!

The most memorable parts kept coming… To be fair, some of the most annoying aspects were out of the company’s control, including a crying baby & a windy day. Moments after we booked the tickets,we were texted that our selected time had been moved back one hour. Then, we got a punter who was on his second trip ever, didn’t know anything about the sites, and had so many head on collisions it felt like bumper boats. The tour started 15 minutes late and the tour ended up being 1.5 hours long instead of 45 minutes, which made us late for other activities on an already tight schedule due to the change in booking. I didn’t expect anything that costs £50 could be quite as miserable and poorly executed.

Chris was a truly incredible guide! He made our day trip to Cambridge so special. We had just done a walking tour of Cambridge, and Chris made sure to share stories and insight that didn’t overlap with what we had just heard. A must do activity in Cambridge

It's a great way to see different bridges without entering every college one by one. Our driver simply introduced the colleges and sight points by the river. He also looked after every passenger. I highly recommend that to those short-term visitors; you can just sit, listen, and see to learn about Cambridge. The only thing that was not good enough was that the sky was getting dark too quickly.

We where 30 minutes late. We called them up and they put us on the next boat. They where very helpful and friendly. The boat ride itself was beautiful and we learnt about the rich history of the city and surrounding areas. Our tour guide was wonderful and I would recommend this too everyone who wants to go to Cambridge!
