PABLO AND HENRY - THE BEST TOUR EVER
Andrea_M, Okt. 2023
I wanna start with how nervous I was when I booked this because of the bad reviews I read. I booked this with the pick-up option and I was not disappointed. The pick-up was on time and very nice, he made sure he looked for the guests at the lobby and checked their tickets. He drove us to the meeting area, the check in was in a store for souvineers and IT IS MUCH CHEAPER THERE THAN MARKET 28, trust me on this. I wish I hadn't been hesitant on buying souvineers there and I wish I had the time to go back here. Anyway, we checked in and paid the taxes that were needed and we went back to the front to meet our guide. PABLO, with a bright smile called my name and the other guests. Told us we had 10 minutes and to use the bathroom before we get on the bus. He went around calling for the other guests too. Waited to make sure everyone was on the bus. When we started our journey, he gave us the itinerary and lots of details and history. He would also come in and tell us detail and snippets of facts minutes before we arrive at the different stops. Him and his yellow binder of pictures are the best part- i love to learn about cultures so every chance he had to share facts and history was my favourite. Taking pictures of the scenery was the second. He has mayan ancestry and his love for his own culture shows. PABLO, IS THE BEST TOUR GUIDE I'VE EVER COME ACROSS. A SMILE ON HIS FACE WHEN HE COMES IN THE ROOM AND HE AND HENRY THE DRIVER DID WHAT THEY COULD TO ACCOMODATE US AND OTHER GUESTS NEEDS. There are drinks and sodas and beer on board, just ask. If you take the plus option you get a box lunch. And if you or somebody needs to use the washroom, they'll find a place to stop. Also, Pablo warns you about the tourist traps and lets you know that to use the washrooms, you have a fee to pay. HENRY was lovely making sure we had cold drinks and cups, he also has umbrellas for you if you ask and he'll help you up and down the bus when needed. (I had a toddler and a baby). Henry pays attention too, i bought ice cream for my toddler and he saw that it was melting, he gave us a cup for it. HENRY AND PABLO ARE A WONDERFUL TEAM. The 1st stop was tulum, not a lot of shade from the sun but it was windy when we went. He talked about the buildings and the uses and the carvings and how important the city was. The views are as amazing as the stories he talked about. I say we had enough free time to explore and take pictures for all the stops. 2nd stop was Coba, we saw the many temples and decided to rent bikes and trikes instead of walking since tulum was really hot and tiring for us. Pablo, waited at every temple for everyone in the group to talk about it and the significance. This one felt rushed but I mean we were on bicycles and it was very shady seeing as it was in the jungle. So it was a nice calm little retreat in the beautiful jungle despite the rush. Our 3rd stop was the cenote which had the lunch buffet. We had a nice Mayan welcome from the elder and they had beautiful handmade souvineers. Lunch was mayan dishes and wood-burned cooked the way mayans did, according to Pablo. they were warm and good and had a familiar taste to us. After that, we jumped in the (underground) cenote after washing up and it was the most refreshing part. The water was cool and the limestone around it made for a good picture. We had such a good time, we almost forgot we had 1 last stop. Playa del Carmen was mostly the market for us. They had a big collection and my family only stayed where we were dropped off. We didn't want to get lost and get left behind. Plus we had already went to buy souvineers the day before. But its prices in playa del carmen seemed fair and much better than Market 28 in Cancun.
4x1 day fun trip
Nancy_H, Sept. 2023
The day was packed with full of activities. Our tour guide was awesome, told us a bunch of back histories about each activity we did. He was attentive, gave us plenty of times to spend at each activity. We were on time to all events. Would definitely come back to them next time.
Great people and places make up for the headache, mostly.
Matthew_C, Aug. 2019
I wrestled with giving 3 vs 4 stars but rated 4 because the value for the price is good, but there were some major annoyances (some unavoidable) packed into an otherwise fun day. Mainly, spending a LOT of time on different buses (first the hotel pickup, then spent an hour at the transfer center which felt like it was in a sketchy area, where we were given a pushy sales pitch for the drink package which I'll explain below. When we finally got assigned to our next van, we sat in sweltering heat with barely any A/C for awhile before our 2 hour trip to Tulum started. It wasn't so bad when we were moving, but as soon as we'd stopped in traffic it would start to get unbearably hot. I didn't feel well by the time we made our next stop, where we were given a bathroom break and transferred to another bus - this one was a nicer Mercedes Benz van, but was still pretty hot. We did stay on this one for the rest of the trip, thank goodness. Overall, we're glad we had the experience, we loved our tour operator Raymundo who was extremely nice, funny, and knowledgeable and fluent in Spanish and English, and we were delivered to and from our hotel safely which is all we could really ask for such a low price. Tulum was beautiful but very crowded, which is not their fault, but in the end we may have done better to do the Tulum half day because it was incredibly rushed compared to the overall time of the tour (about 13 hours from pickup to drop off)- by the time we'd been set off for free time, gone up to the ruins overlooking the ocean, & fought through the crowds for pictures, we were running late. We would have liked more time in Tulum but of course, that's the nature of a big tour group and we did enjoy Coba and the cenote as well. The cenote was very refreshing and not crowded - and it was fun to go on the all-terrain vehicle that took you from the lunch location down to the cenote. Coba was pretty awesome to rent a bicycle and ride through the ruins to the one you can climb, very neat and my favorite part of the day because it was cooler ¬ rushed. I wish there had been a tour option without PDC at the end- it was just a boring shopping complex with a beach subpar to the one at our resort. On the drink package - don't do it! They tried to scare and confuse us by saying we'd be so thirsty all day and end up buying 5 $5 drinks pp, which somehow would be pricier than their $30 pp package? We each had a big water bottle and only bought 2 extra drinks each at ~$2
Tolum e Coba são fantásticos.
Gustavo_D, Okt. 2023
