Peggy's Cove Tour

Our tour conductor was very knowledgeable about the area and told us facts and stories about the area. She was so interesting and very personable!! We also got to Peggy's Cove before the bigger bus tours so we could shop and check out everything without crowds!

Beautiful and Surprising

Nilah was a great tour guide. We got a ride through the city pointing out interesting sites and giving us some history of the area. The drive to Peggy's Cove is a little long, but well worth it. The lighthouse at Peggy's Cove is spectacular and stunning. The town is small, but most of our time was spent exploring the lighthouse. We left with many wonderful memories.

Thor and Peter were fantastic tour guides. Our Mercedes Benz Van was perfect for the 4 adults and 2 toddlers. The 2 custom designed our tour. We got finished at Peggy’s Cove early because of the kids and suggested a historic park on the water with a great playground. It was a beautiful day and very relaxing compared to a big bus! Thank you Thor and Peter for all the info and experiences.

A bit disappointing

The tour guide Moe picked us up on time, and he gave us the scripted info on the way to Peggy's Cove. He basically dropped us off and said he had someone else to pick up and he would be back at 1230/1245. We were at the pickup spot at the correct time but he did not show up. I had to phone twice before he showed up 45 minutes late. With no apology just an excuse that the people he was picking up were disoriented and late. It was very annoying to be waiting thinking he was going to be there when we could have enjoyed the musical ceiling at the Schoolhouse that we had paid for a bit longer.

Was really looking forward to this. However, this driver was extremely pompous. It was me and my daughter along with two other passengers in a van. All the driver talked about was his bed and breakfast the entire trip. Had nothing to talk about and kept asking us “how much do you think this house is worth?” It was very odd. Also, he stops at a random place and says here is your photo op and it was a short dock which you couldn’t even see anything worthy of a photo. It was next to a restaurant that he said “was the best in Halifax. Best lobster and best fish and chips”. It was 12:30 and assumed we would be eating here. We had to ask. He was “showing” us the “best restaurant in Halifax”, but had no intentions of stopping to eat. We did end up eating there because the 4 of us wanted to. He says we can’t sit outside because there are no tables. Yet, the waitress came to us and said there were plenty of tables and the service is just as fast. I asked him if there was a place in Peggy’s Cove to get gingerbread cake. He says the woman who made the “best” gingerbread in Halifax is now working here but isn’t here today. I said again, is there a place in Peggy’s cove? He responded by saying “ I just said the best person works here” in a very obnoxious tone. Peggy’s cove was breathtaking. The ride there and back was excruciating.

We made it to Peggy’s Cove before all the tour buses so we had time without sharing the experience with 7-10 buses of people. It was a rainy/windy morning but it was still wonderful. Gave us a “different” look with the waves hitting the shoreline. Our driver was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Wouldn’t hesitate to book this again.

See Sight Tour - Small Group (six people) Tour of Peggy's Cove from Halifax

Our tour guide, Adrian, from See Sight Tours was excellent. He grew up in Nova Scotia and was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. As we drove to Peggy's Cove he avoided a road delay by taking us on a scenic route along numerous picturesque coves along the way. He stopped along the way and gave us an accounting of past tragic events that had occurred commemorated with memorials. Peggy's Cove lighthouse with the enormous surrounding boulders is beautiful as it stands strong against the fog, wind and waves of the North Atlantic. The surrounding shops and galleries at Peggy's Cove provided a great opportunity to pick up nautical gifts or art work for your home. We also opted for a final stop at the immaculately maintained Fairview Lawn cemetery where the remains of 150 RMS Titanic victims are buried. Certainly a very solemn but respectful final resting place commemorated with a large bronze plaque giving a historical accounting of one of history's most tragic maritime disasters. This tour should be on your "can't miss" list when in Halifax. SM

Peggy’s Cove was beautiful as well as the Fishing Village. Janet , the driver was phenomenal. We were pressed for time, because our cruise ship was leaving early, due to an impending storm, she made sure we saw everything.

We were unable to go on the tour because our ship was delayed because of weather. Contacted the company and was charged a $100 cancellation fee. Viator was little or no help in helping me with this issue

The driver showed up at 7:45….earlier than the time we were given for our tour which was 8:30 so we missed it all! We got off our ship and searched the whole parking lot but no see/sight van in sight. Then we were told we were late so the driver left! Very frustrating and no refund possible!
