Seeing the highland cows.

We were on a private tour with 2 brothers, one sister and 2 significant others. Sara was our tour guide and she began the tour asking what We wanted to see. She was very accommodating to our needs with frequent breaks, taking photos, local color and a great lunch spot. She was a great asset to her company and I highly recommend her and Go Highlands.

Cawdor Castle, with its unique architecture, fascinating history, and lovely grounds and gardens, was definitely a highlight of the tour. But I particularly enjoyed the visitors’ centre at the Culloden and then walking the actual battlefield. We were blessed with a clear, dry day and - more importantly - an excellent guide. Alistair was prompt, knowledgable, and pleasant, and set the pace of his tour based on our interests and desires. He and his partner (George) are both the very best option to choose when touring this hauntingly beautiful area.

We are a family of 5 and took this tour on Sept. 13, 2023. Our tour guide/driver (I believe his name is Jim, sorry if I'm wrong, we did lots of tours during our British Isle cruise). He was a great guide/driver; very knowledgeable, very entertaining, very kind, very thoughtful, very smart, and so much more. My 3 young adults son love listening to his stories and information of many things about the place and beyond. We highly recommend this tour. Thank you!

Fantastic Tour! Amy was our tour guide and she was great-- on the drive she shared so much information with us about Scotlands history, introduced us to Scottish music- "Donald Where's Your Trousers was our fave--, and thoroughly explained each and every place we visited. I particularly enjoyed her walking us around Culloden battlefield and sharing her knowledge with us-- I learned so much more than I expected. Highly recommend this tour!

The best part was having a Scottish tour guide therefore hearing both sides of the historical story. The wall stones that represented each person killed in the battle really showed the disproportion of death on the 2 sides. Ask about Flora Mac Donald

Our guide Richie was fantastic. We had a small group of only 4 in our van. We saw all the sites with good explanations at each location. Totally recommend this to anyone who wants the Inverness key points in one day.

A very special day traveling with George Murray to Clava Cairns, Culloden Battlefield and Loch Ness. One of the highlights of the day was stopping to drink from Loch Ness! I was also deeply moved by George’s telling of the history of Clava Cairns.

History, Science, and Gin

Our guide George M. was fun and knowledgeable. A wonderful tour to Clava Cairns, Culloden, Loch Ness Museum and a sweet little gin distillery! He also whisked us up to Beauly Priory. A very full day with many interesting stops.
Great way to start our family holiday

This tour was an amazing start to our holiday in the Highlands. We got to see Clava Cairns, Culloden battlefield, Cawdor Castle and Beauly Priory and some friendly Highland Cows into the bargain. The weather was sunny and hot for the most part and the beautiful Cawdor Castle gardens were a highlight for me. We all enjoyed the reenactment of the battlefield at Culloden and the kids were fascinated by the video demonstrations of the old cannons firing. These are all amazing places and we would never have managed all this on our own on public transport. The best thing about the tour though is George who is a mine of interesting information that you would not find in a guidebook. For the whole of the rest of our tour of the Highlands someone would pipe up at least once a day ‘remember what George said about that’ (clans, salmon fishing and even Jimmy Page!) I would highly recommend starting your Highland adventure with a tour with George.
