Once in a lifetime whisky tour!

We had a wonderful day with George. He was on time picking us all up (6 of us). We visited 4 different distilleries and toured one of them. He also picked a great spot for us to stop for lunch. Throughout the day he told us lots of history about the different places we passed by. He speckled in a few great stories as well. His van was comfortable with plenty of room, and he was an excellent driver as well.we would highly recommend him to all!

We had a great time with George! It turned out to be just my husband and I on our tour so we got a really personalized experience. We got to feed Diesal, a cutie pie Highland coo as a bonus too. George had a couple twists thrown at him unexpectedly (Glenlivet didn’t have enough staff to pour us a dram) and he was able to quickly pivot and get us to a different distillery (Craggenmore) that ended up giving us three really interesting drama, one being on my husbands wanted to try list. Overall a really awesome day that we very much enjoyed.

Speyside Distillary Tour with George

While visiting Scotland before a work event my husband planned some amazing things for us to get the full highland experience… of course you can’t come to Scotland and miss whiskey ….knowing we didn’t want to drink and drive, he landed on George with GHD tours - We could not have had more fun ! George picked us up at our hotel in Inverness and we headed off for a full day of tasting and touring. George is quick witted , informative, and knows every nook and cranny of the area. He made sure to tailor to our tastes and was accommodating - making sure we had everything we needed along the way…. He was compassionate and genuinely cares about his guests… We hit 4 distilleries , a few unexpected add on-sites and even got some insider tips on where to go hear great music and how to navigate “left side “ driving … so when searching for a guide in this area look no further than GHD tours .. and hope George has space for you :-)

Touring the distilleries with George

Had a wonderful time with George in touring the distilleries. He is very knowledgeable about them and most of their staff knows him well. He also knew how to break up the itinerary to have a good lunch at the right time. We took a lot of back roads enjoying the scenery. He even packed some biscuits for old "diesel" (hairy coo) shown in the picture. We all fed him and for his size he is passive and loves biscuits.

World's worst Clansman.

Was really looking forward to this tour. Our driver showed up with a terrible cold. He was cranky and clearly did not feel good. He should have stayed home. He was coughing, blowing his nose, picking his nose and hacking up phlegm and spitting it out the window. I found him to be terribly rude and he set the the tone for the tour experience. With the right driver, this could have been a fun experience. Please tell your drivers to stay home if they are sick! The last thing I want is to have to fly back home with a horrible head cold.

The perfect tour

It was absolutely the fantastic day! George planned us the perfect tour and took in consideration our requests. We asked to visit Glenfiddich distillery, Glenlivet distillery and Glendronac distillery. We started at a full tour at Glendronac distillery. Later we went for drinks at Glenfiddich and bottled are own bottle straight from the cask. Finally we visited the Glenlivet. Lovely day, thanks to George.

Our group of friends had a great time with George! He was very knowledgable about the area and had many great tidbits throughout the day. He also handled all of the logistics of making reservations. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience Speyside from a local. One note - the distilleries have varying levels of availability. Despite our group booking fairly last minute, George was still able to get us a full itinerary. But, if you have a "must visit" distillery, booking the tour well in advance and contacting the guide (George) will give you the best chance of getting into your first pick distilleries.
