Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit auf diesem Ausflug! „Boots“ war unser Führer und er war so freundlich, hilfsbereit und kompetent. Die zur Verfügung gestellte Ausrüstung war erstklassig und wir fühlten uns bei jedem Schritt gut betreut. Das Paddeln mit dem Kanu (ca. 5 Meilen RT) selbst ist anstrengend, besonders wenn der Wind vom Gletscher weht. Aber das hautnahe Erlebnis, zum Fuß des Gletschers und zu den Nugget Falls zu gelangen, war ein einmaliger Moment. Danke Boots! !

Die Erfahrung, den Gletscher und die Wasserfälle auf dem Wasser zu sehen, ist eine ganz andere Perspektive. Wir haben auch einen Schwarzbären gesehen! Unser Führer, Paul, war fantastisch. Er stellte alles zur Verfügung, was wir brauchten, um die Erfahrung zu genießen. . . die Ausrüstung, Informationen und Humor. Wir sind 65 Jahre alt und es war eine großartige Erfahrung. Mein Mann hat erwähnt, dass es für so langes Sitzen schön gewesen wäre, einen gepolsterten Sitz zu haben. . . Aber insgesamt war dies ein denkwürdiges Ereignis, über das wir so glücklich sind!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit auf dieser Kanutour mit unserem Guide Matt! Wir hatten einen Tag in Juneau von unserem Kreuzfahrtschiff und dies war der perfekte Ausflug. Matt traf uns in der Stadt und fuhr uns dann zum Drehort. Es war ein schöner Tag. Sie bieten auch Regenausrüstung für alle Fälle. Es war ein großartiges Training und Sie werden mit einem näheren Blick auf den Mendenhall-Gletscher belohnt. Wir haben auch einige Bergschafe gesehen! Kann es jedem empfehlen, der nach einem lustigen Abenteuer sucht.

Hands down one of the best experiences I've had in Alaska! Our guide Bryce was knowledgable, funny, outgoing, and really cared about our comfort and safety. He picked us up from the cruise ship dock and during our ride to the lake he narrated all the fun and interesting facts about Juneau, including pointing out all the bald eagles he saw on the way. When we arrived at the lake, he geared us up with waterproof jackets, gloves, pants, and boots, along with a bag of snacks and a water bottle. Then, bag and paddle in hand, we walked to the shore for a safety briefing (following which, I felt I could trust Bryce with my life). We then paddled to sites on the lake, including the waterfall and, of course, the glacier. On the way we saw bald eagles, a Harbor Seal, and even got to hold a chunk of glacier ice that was floating in the lake (that Bryce fished out for us). Bryce told us interesting facts (and jokes) the entire way. This was truly the BEST way to see Mendenhall Glacier, because the poor thing has retreated so far that you can only see the smallest sliver of it from the visitor's center or the waterfall. After we went back to home base Bryce made us all hot cider and cocoa, and then drove us back to downtown Juneau. A note about the paddling: look, I am a sedentary creature. We joke that I was probably a barnacle in my past life. So I was worried about my arms falling off from all the rowing but it wasn't bad at all! We rowed for maybe 5 min at a time and then would take a break to rest our arms and to take pics.

Being able to be up close to the Mendenhall Glacier was an amazing experience. Our guides Boots & Ben we simply the best @ what they do. They were both knowledgeable & willing to answer any questions that were asked of them. The entire tour was memorable! My only 2 disappointments was that Boots was not very interactive with us & the guy narrating would speak & point out certain places & we couldn't turn to look while we were rowing (inexperienced rowers!).

What an absolute treat. This excursion was a blast. The scenery of Mendenhall Lake, the falls and especially the amazing glacier were amazing. Our guide Bryce was the icing on the cake. He was fun, entertaining and very knowledgeable about the history and the environment of the glacier and its ecosystem. We rowed, we rested and we rowed some more. I’d strongly recommend you not book your excursion through you’re cruise line. This is THE tour to take. You will not be disappointed. As an extra recommendation: The Hangar on the Wharf was great for dinner. Try the fresh chowder.

The glacier!! Our guide, Miller was incredible, getting us up close and personal with this natural wonder. He managed our time perfectly, directing our padding so as to allow for maximum time viewing and taking photos. We had a great experience with our guide Boots. He was super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and led us on a great canoe tour to the glacier- the boat goes right up to the tip of it so you can closely see the beauty of the glacier. Rowing up to it in the water was an extraordinary experience ill never forget. The company provided water proof pants jackets and boots as well as a waterproof bag to hold your small things- they also gave a water bottle and snacks for when you need a break while out on the water.
