      Great guide to see a whole side of the island! Very informative. The only downside would be the Menehune Ditch and bridge was questionable. A sign saying “beware of dogs” was just across the bridge, so we didn’t make the whole trek. Lots of abandoned cars.

      This self guided tour was the BEST!!! We even gave our tour guide a name, we called him Howard!! Haha! He was funny, informative and all around a great guide!! Will definitely use this again for another tour while here in Kauai!!

      I've bought a few of these self drive tours while in the Hawaiian islands. They are fantastic!! They take all the thinking and effort out of touring on your own. You don't need to look up directions either, the narrator guides you via offline GPS the whole way! We were a larger group so we couldn't complete all the stops which was fine by us. But plenty to do and see.

      Perfect for people who like to avoid group tours and move at their own pace. We really enjoyed all of the folklore and facts that were given (and I have a 15 yo and a 18 yo who also really liked it). It was cool to go off the beaten path a little to locations suggested on the tour.

      The best part was Waimea Canyon with its spectacular views. The NaPali Coast did not disappoint either. So many breathtaking views and amazing scenery. The guide on the audio kept things fun and exciting! I would totally recommend to anyone because it was so easy to follow and you could go at your own pace! Mahalo!!!

      Waimea Canyon was amazing but the app quite working half-way through the trip. It would have been nice to have the narration for the duration of the drive.

      We never received the directions after we downloaded the app. I couldn't reach anyone at shaka either. I want my money back. Never got a link originally either from shaka only viator and viator didn't give us any direction either. Horrible experience.

      We're sorry to hear there's been some confusion or inconvenience. For tours purchased through Viator or TripAdvisor, users must follow the steps listed in the voucher/ticket to correctly download the app and tours to their device. Some users reported that they needed to download the ticket first and then were able to see the instructions and the redeem code for their Shaka Guide tours. Wish you would have contacted us at that time so we could have assisted you in properly setting up the Shaka Guide app and tour onto your phone after booking with Viator/TripAdvisor. Email us at aloha@shakaguide.com if you have other questions or if you'd like to get a refund.

      The recording for the Historic site, noted that it was a bunch of rocks. Why not delete it from the tour and save some time? We really didn't get a lot of important information from the recording and we looked up the sites on Google and got what we needed from there.

      We used the Shaka Kauai app to take several self guided driving tours while we were on the island. It allows you to take your time and explore what you want. Would highly recommend to everyone!!
