Super Food Tour

Unser Reiseleiter Max ist ein sehr sympathischer und begeisterter junger Mann. Er weiß viel über die lebhafte Hanalei-Food-Szene, sowohl weil er in lokalen Restaurants arbeitet als auch ein häufiger Kunde von ihnen ist. Die Auswahl und Reihenfolge der Restaurants war gut geplant und schnell. Die Gerichte waren alle sehr lecker und einzigartig. Seien Sie sicher, hungrig anzukommen. Sie werden nicht lange sein. Außerdem hat Max mein Interesse an der Taro-Pflanze und ihrem Anbau aufgegriffen. Bevor ich es wusste, führte er uns zu einem Punkt in der Nähe eines tatsächlichen Feldes und hielt uns einen kurzen, aber informativen Mini-Vortrag darüber. Wir empfehlen diese Tour!

Gutes Essen in einer kleinen Stadt

Wir trafen unseren Führer zu Beginn von Hanalei und begannen unsere Tour dort. Er gab uns etwas Geschichte der Gegend und all die großartigen Restaurants. Wir probierten Poi und Fisch Tacos, die erstaunlich und frisch Sack und Schokoladenkuchen und Schokoladentrüffel waren. Tolle Tour in wunderschöner Lage sehr zu empfehlen

Nalu was such a pleasure to be with during his fantastic food tour of Hanalei. His depth of knowledge was impressive, the food selections were a big hit, and the company of the other groups on the tour was nice. Nalu displayed a lot of attention to detail and provided excellent service throughout the entire experience. It was especially thoughtful he reached out before the tour inquiring about any allergies, etc. Top notch service and experience. One of my highlights was meeting the nice man at the chocolate shop. Another highlight was the pie. Absolutely knock your socks off good. All Nalu’s selections were on point. I highly recommend this food tour.

Fun, but not a well rounded variety of food

Definitely more of a sweets experience than a savory one. We had pork with taro and chicken with ponzu sauce, then a series of desserts (acai bowl, macademia pie, chocolates). Was hoping to get some fish or more savory dishes- by the end we were pretty sweet-ed out.

Every tour is different. None of our lineups are 7 days a week since the lock downs. A poi bowl and chilli pepper chicken plate are two full savory lunch servings on their own. Option 3 mentioned, Acai bowl, is a choose it yourself stop, also available for you was fish jerky and several other savory options. Please call (808)464-7759 to explain what we could have done to make it a 5 star experience.

This was a really nice tour. Made better by the fact that we were late, and the host waited for us which doesn't happen often. This was a great way to explore Hanalei and sample some of its fabulous cuisine whilst getting exercise at the same time. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Max Nalu share a variety of foods and local history of the people, restaurants and traditions that was very impressive. I tried foods I normally would not eat and actually enjoyed nearly all of them. It was a unique and worthwhile experience. I would recommend it to my friends and anyone interested in learning more about the foods and culture of Hawaii. Thank you Nalu!

The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. All 6 stops on the tour were varied and delicious types of food. The guide provided alternatives for dietary needs and a member of our family tried new foods and enjoyed them.

Great food tour! Jedi was our guide and he was great. Loved hearing his stories and he seemed very knowledgeable of the island .. he made sure we had everything that we needed (napkins, to go boxes etc). He was just a kind soul. Best guide ever!

We have 1,000's of guests and most everyone loves all the curated tastings. Infact, we've had 7 groups return to eat the same food on their next visit. Our guide, Nalu, was thorough and eloquent. He had an almost encyclopedic knowledge of Hawaiian history, agriculture and legend. He was, of course, brilliant about all things food related in Hanalei. He listened and answered even silly questions all while walking backwards and gesturing to each restaurant or food truck. The food we enjoyed (tacos, fried chicken, chocolate, smoothies, fresh fruit popsicles) all were locally grown and all from local, not chain restaurants. In addition he also identified many other restaurants nearby with tantalizing menus and wonderful owners. Nalu encouraged us to taste and enjoy all the many delicious foods in Hanalei although admittedly we would need weeks not days. My wife and I highly recommend his tour. Nalu’s tour was a wonderful part of our visit to Kauai.

Max is a warm, fun, and knowledgeable guide. Each food stop was excellent. That was the best fish taco I've ever had - and I've had many.-- We learned about history, indigenous plants and a a whole lot about food.

Nolou (so?) was our guide. He was AWESOME!!!!!! Nolou was friendly, personable, helpful, and thoughtful. And he shared amazing food with us! Loved, loved, loved the jackfruit gyro at Tiki Taziki food truck, wonderful fried chili chicken with potato mac and rice, sashimi, ahi, and poke at Dolphin Fish Market, oh-my-gosh I’ve gone to Heaven macadamia nut pie (also from the chicken place Village Snack & Bake Shop) was the best EVER! The tour was interesting and very informative thanks to Nolou!!! We finished up with incredible chocolate truffles from owner Jack at Chocolate Hanalei. Exquisite!! Nolou provided an OUTSTANDING walking food tour with excellent food!
