Das erwartet Sie

Um 8:40 Uhr begrüßt Sie Ihr Fahrer auf dem zentralen Parkplatz von Keswick, direkt hinter dem Oldfellows Arms. Hier steigen Sie in ein Fahrzeug ein und fahren nach Windermere, wo die Tour offiziell beginnt.

Bei der Ankunft in Windermere begrüßen Sie Ihren Reiseleiter und besteigen ein klimatisiertes Fahrzeug für die erhöhten Pässe des Lake District National Parks. Während der Fahrt durch das Tal Langdale, ein Mekka für Kletterer, erläutert Ihr Reiseleiter Details über die Kultur und Geschichte der Region. Sie fahren auf engen, kurvenreichen Straßen bis zum Gipfel der Wrynose- und Hardknott-Pässe und genießen den Blick auf Scafell und Scafell Pike, Englands höchste Berge.

Bei der Ankunft im Tal Eskdale machen Sie eine unvergessliche Fahrt mit der Ravenglass und Eskdale-Eisenbahn. Rollen Sie durch die malerischen Wälder und halten Sie unterwegs für ein Mittagessen (auf eigene Kosten) bei einem Gasthaus an.

Anschließend geht es weiter zum Wastwater, Heimat eines Aussichtspunkts mit Panoramas, die einmal zu Großbritanniens bestem Ausblick gewählt wurden. Am Schloss Muncaster, einer Festung aus dem 14. Jahrhundert im Besitz der Pennington-Familie, schlendern Sie durch die herrlichen Gärten, die mit vielfältiger Flora und Fauna gefüllt sind. Gegen eine zusätzliche Gebühr besuchen Sie optional das Hawk and Owl Centre, um Greifvögel zu sehen.

Ihre Tour endet mit dem Transfer zu Ihrem Hotel in Keswick.

Lovely day out with our guide Tony. We loved being able to see some of the more Western lakes that we would not have otherwise been able to get to. Driver did an AMAZING job of navigating the roads and passes. He was also very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the tour.

Even in the rain this was a great day. We got to explore some areas that would be hard to see under our own steam and it genuinely felt like an adventure. Tony was an excellent guide and driver. Spectacular scenery. The castle and birds of prey part was surprisingly good too. If you’re in any doubt about doing this tour I’d say book it and you’ll have fun.

This excellent value for money tour takes you to some of the best highlights and high points the Lake District has to offer. Derek was an excellent guide and superbly skilled driver. Although there was a packed itinerary the tour never once felt hurried. There was plenty of stops providing the opportunity to photograph the stunning views. The birds of prey flight display at Muncaster Castle was a real bonus ! The perfect tour if you want to make the most of a short stay in the Lake District. Highly recommended.

I am so glad I booked this tour! It was a great way to see The Lake District as a first time visitor, my partner thoroughly enjoyed the day too even though he has been to The Lake District before. We saw the most amazing views. Malcolm, the driver was so informative, he was a great guide and very skillful and calm driver, especially on the steep, narrow roads! We had every confidence in him. The tour was great value for money fitting lots in but it didn't feel rushed. The train ride was fun with very pretty views and the castle grounds and bird of prey display was brilliant. The beautiful weather was the icing on the cake. Being picked up in Keswick was very convenient as that's where we were staying. We will definitely book a tour next time we come, probably the 10 lakes tour. It's such a great, hassle free way to see so much in a day!
