Wandernd über Vulkane und Pflanzen lernen

Unser freundlicher und gut gelaunter Guide Giacomo hat nicht nur mit viel Begeisterung Wissenswertes über Geologie und Flora vermittelt, sondern war auch sonst gut vorbereitet (als z. B. einer Teilnehmerin die Schuhsohle abging, war er mit Panzertape und Kabelbindern zur Stelle). Die Organisation der Wanderung war prima und unkompliziert. Wir hatten eine sehr gute Zeit inmitten der unwirklichen Landschaft!

The tour is just excellent!!! Our English guide Marcelo was amazing! He carefully explained so many things about the island, the volcanos, the agriculture and the history of Lanzarote. I really appreciated walking in the middle of the volcanos. The hike is quite easy and very pleasant! Strongly recommend it!!!

Tedious slow excursion

I selected an English speaking tour but that is not what you get. We had a knowledgeable guide Maria but every stop was 3 times longer as she had to explain in 3 languages which made the walk all the more boring Most of the walk is along a graded road with little to see . The Volcano was reached after slow walk of 2 hours . We left early as the tour was advertised to be 3 hours long with late start at 10.15 we only returned to our car by 1 pm and we left the group way after the Volcano visit In summary learnt some good information but stops, the walk and multiple language explanations was very tedious to say at best. Plan to out at least 4-5 hrs not 3 hrs as advertised

Fantastic walking tour through the volcanic landscape

We were picked from our hotel in Playa Blanca at the prearranged time. This had been emailed to us by Vimotions just after we booked through Viator. The tour started at 10:00 but the pick up was at 08:55 so something to be aware of if using the transfer option. Prior to beginning the actual walking part we were given a brief but interesting talk to set the context for what we would see. We were also given a bag containing some light snacks and bottles of water. Poles were available if needed. We travelled in an English speaking group of 9 so there was plenty of opportunity to see everything and ask loads of questions. Mano, our guide, was excellent. His knowledge of the region and his brilliant sense of humour made the landscape come alive and we learnt so much as we trekked through the Natural Park adjacent to the Timanfaya National Park (no trekking is allowed within its boundaries so this is the closest you can get). The whole experience was wonderful as we walked through the ancient landscape and viewed the power of nature up close and personal. We stood on the edge of extinct volcanoes, stared into chimneys and learnt all about the different kinds of pyroclastic debris that forms the current landscape. The walk itself took us over different underfoot conditions from fine sandy to quite large pyroclastic pieces and there were parts where we walked up and down quite steep inclines. I would say that you need to wear appropriate footwear - walking shoes or boots as opposed to trainers - with good grip as some of the pathways were loose underfoot. We are in our mid sixties but we coped with both the length of the walk (approximately 7km) and all the conditions without any real difficulty so although I would not categorise the walk as easy, I would say it is accessible to anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. Overall, we both found this tour to be fascinating and highly recommended if you want to get away from the touristy part of Timanfaya and experience the serene beauty that is the real Lanzarote. The tour company were excellent throughout and are also highly recommended. Thank you Mano for a morning we will never forget.

Great activity in unique landscape

Excellent, easy walk through a very unique landscape. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and interesting. They were also on time for pick up and very organised. We booked after another operator cancelled last minute and were really happy with our alternative choice. A great way to spend some time outdoors.

Appalling, never again!

The booking was fir 10AM. 6 weeks before travel a brief message was posted on viator that the pick up was changed to 8.50AM. The communication was not sent direct to us and as a result we still understood it to be 10AM. The day before the trip, we called the tour provider through the provider Viator contact and she confirmed she would pick us up at 10AM. The day of the trip we were there at 10AM and no one came. We later learnt they wanted to collect us a 9AM. We missed our trip and had to make our own arrangements for our own tour. Poor service, poor communication and misleading and false information. NEVER AGAIN ! We would now like our money back, where is our money ?

Excellent walk with interesting geology

This was a really great afternoon in the lava fields with Marcel and Laurent! The walk was relaxed and even though the terrain was rough I never felt over-exerted. The hike runs for about 7km, lasting 3 hours, with numerous stops along the way to talk about the features visible in the landscape. Laurent's knowledge of the local geology was exceptional, and I learned a lot even though I've been to Lanzarote several times. I thoroughly recommend this tour for anybody if a reasonable level of fitness who would like to see another side of Lanzarote.

The pick up was smooth, the drive enjoyable the walk leisurely. It was fantastic entering the crater of the volcano and to see the Colorado volcano up close. Maria, our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was a very small group and was fun. Loved this tour!

Easy to book.. Quick response to a specific query.. Pick up at the time and place arranged.. All Covid safe.. Water, bananas and cereal bars provided.. Guides speaking multiple languages fluently..very impressive!! Medium difficulty walk with regular stops.. Sturdy foot wear a must.. Expert knowledge shared in an accessible number.. Great photography opportunities.. All in all a top experience and will recommend it without any hesitation Thank you!

Very informative trip,great guide Giacomo sharing history of how the volcanoes came to be.But be aware this trip involves a lot of walking over uneven volcanic rock and loose shale but worth it.

Nice and very interesting walk through the protected vulcanic park. Definately would recommend for people who like a walk. Good guide who took care of the people that had some difficulties with the (Fairly easy) path.

I really enjoyed the visit, Giacomo is very knowledgeable guide able to answer all questions we made. The only negative point was organization, for the meeting point they sent us the GPS coordinates but the guide was in another location this left us waiting and losing a lot of our time as we started very late. If it wasn’t for this i would definitely give them top mark.

An amazing trip to see the geology, flora and fauna of the volcanos of Lanzarote up close. The guide was extremely knowledgable about the rocks, pointing out Lava tubes and tunnels, fumaroles volcanic bombs with olivine crystals and explaining the history of the volcanic eruptions. It was great to be able to see it all up close. It was not a difficult walk for 3 hours.
