Nicht die uns versprochene Tour gegeben
Judy_K, Sept. 2022
Hi Judy, We are extremely sorry to hear that you found this tour disappointing, as it is a very popular small group tour that usually gets 5-star reviews from our customers. This tour does only stop briefly in the Cotswolds for photo opportunities and the rest of it is just a drive-through to see the views from the windows of the vehicle; there is not usually time to stop in the villages for visits so apologies if this was not what you expected. The only lengthy visits/stops are at Stratford-Upon-Avon and Oxford. There is usually a walking tour given in Oxford, this is correct, we are investigating why our driver-guide did not give one on this day as this is usually part of the tour (perhaps timing, road closures or parking closures). Very sorry if you missed the walking tour on this day, but we hope you enjoyed the locations visited.
Angenehme Erfahrung
Sheree_M, Juli 2022

Dear Sheree, Thank you for your lovely review and we are happy to hear the boys enjoyed the interactive and interesting feature of Shakespeare's Schoolroom. We hope you can travel with us again sometime. Kind Regards Anderson Tours
Could Be Better
Roving55046618736, Sept. 2019
The trip was too fast and the visit to Shakespeare's birthplace was underwhelming. Oxford was great, but there just wasn't enough time to see it. All of this could have been recovered with a more informative, interesting commentary from the guide. Unfortunately, the narrative was disjointed and repetitive.

Thank you for your review. Your feedback is precious to us as it allows us to focus on the areas that need improvement. We are happy to read, nonetheless, that you enjoyed Oxford. Kind regards, The Anderson Tours Team

Not a great day for my 2nd day ever in London. Pickup point was quite a journey, had to get on lovely your bus only to find out i was to get dropped off to meet my real driver and transportation a mini van with no AC. Driver did say he didn't have a.c. but no mention of a refund so I decided to go even though it was 30 Celsius all day with blazing sun. Driver was lovely and knowledgeable but there was another couple on bus who were late getting back to the car after Stratford Upon Acon. This started an argument between the driver and them . Very tense and stressful ride to Oxford and back to London. And then a long walk back to my hotel. If I had to do it again I would have backed out and demanded refund. But live and learn. Not a great experience thankfully rest of my time in London was lovely.

I had fun on the tour! Stratford was amazing, and the stop at Cotswold was lovely. I found Oxford interesting as well, but not as enjoyable. If I had to make a tiny tweak to the itinerary, I'd spend maybe an extra half hour at Stratford and make up for it by spending slightly less time in Oxford.

It was raining on the day of our tour but that did not dampen the spirits of our tour guide Christina. She did an excellent job giving us the stories behind each college in Oxford and answered all our questions. She was pleasant, funny and well informed. We also enjoyed Startford upon Avon visiting Shakespeare's birth house and the little villages in Cotswold.

We had a great tour guide who was very knowledgeable on the areas we stopped at. The size of the group was great and the transportation was very accommodating.

This was a charming trip in every way, except for the timing. My companion and I are huge Shakespeare fans and we needed more time in Stratford. But the things we wanted to see were just too spread out to reach all of them.We might have been better off doing a separate trip to Stratford. Otherwise, this trip to the Midlands was a pleasant journey outside the city, giving us a taste of the English countryside. Oxford lived up to the imagination as the classic university town and the thatched cottages of the Cotswolds tickled the imagination. Its a tour that recreated many a literary landscape for myself and my companion, particularly since both of us are or have been English teachers.

Although we did enjoy seeing these sights, we felt that more dialogue as to the sights that we passed in the bus would have made the trip more interesting.

Our tour guide, Daniel, was very knowledgeable and fun during the day. The only reason this tour is not getting 5 stars is the organization of the day. Honestly, this tour had a little too much crammed into one day. All the places we visited were great, but there was a general rushing of time and there was not nearly enough time to stay and enjoy everything. Also, if you are rushing around to see everything on your free time, you will do a LOT of walking. My pedometer said 27,000 steps at the end of this day, and I was beat. When we got to Stratford, we waited in line for group admission into Shakespeare's birthplace. Finally, my friend and I decided to just go do our own exploring, because there was less than 2 hours to see everything. It was sad we had to make that choice, but I will have to just make a plan to go back to Stratford one day to give myself more time. The Cotswolds were beautiful, but because we were behind on time, we only had a 10 minute stop in one town, so there wasn't really time to see much of that. It would be better to cut that out of the tour and see that on a separate full day. Finally, Oxford included a walking tour. It is a beautiful city, and I am curious if they still do tours on the Oxford campus, though, when there are students there for the school year. Either way, pop into the Eagle and Child. They have signatures of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, among others on one of their walls. I thought it was neat, if you are into literature at all.

This was a fun way to spend the day outside of London. You don't really get much time at any location but it was nice to see Stratford-upon-Avon and Oxford. Our tour guide was very informative, especially about Shakespeare.

... after a little hiccup with the tour company operating this trip, they were able to rectify the situation and we were treated to a smaller private tour. There is plenty of free time to explore on your own, and the guide that was assigned to us was quite knowledgable.

Anca, Mai 2017
Anderson tour was not a good choise for Oxford tour. We had a totaly unexperienced guide, Sandra, who didn't provide any information about Oxford. She was talking about places to eat and our tip at the end of the trip. Avoid Anderson, avoid Sandra!

I will cut out the Cotswold from this tour. Although the Cotswolds is beautiful, it makes the tour too long and one does not really experience anything there.

Etoi D, Juli 2016
I would give this tour 3-1/2 stars because the sites are wonderful. My family of 2 adults and an 11 y/o went on this tour in June 2016. The pick-up process was disorganized, leaving some of the other customers annoyed and complaining. The guide and driver had trouble working the AC and window de-fog on the bus, but they did have a working emergency toilet for 1 only. My family loved Stratford where the tour included entrance into Shakespeare's childhood home, we walked to his grave site and church, and took in the historic buildings with cobbled-stoned streets. Our stop in the Costwolds was in a shopping square of historic buildings for 5-10 mins, which left you with no time to shop, eat or really do anything except stand in the rain. It was also raining when we arrived at Oxford and our tour guide gave us brief directions from the bus where some restaurants were and bathrooms in a museum. There was NO guided tour through Oxford included maybe because it was poring down raining. Even so, we LOVED Oxford. We ate at The Eagle and Child pub excellent food! known for 2 famous authors dining there walked the historic streets and did a little tourist shopping since time was short. My family really enjoyed this tour although, it seemed to be jinxed from the beggining. We enjoyed the rain, but I think it delayed our travel between sites on a quirky bus, giving us less time to enjoy the destinations, and making our tour guide less willing to actually complete the description of the tour we paid for.

Anderson Tour let us down big time: they did not come to pick us up at the meeting place letting us wait in the rain for hours! Ridiculous!

My tour guide is Kristina. She is very knowledgeable and responsive. We were lucky to have a super small size group tour, only 4 people. Kristina was very nice to accommodate our requests. We changed the schedule slightly to have more time in Cotswold, which is absolutely beautiful. I could not believe that I could learn that much about England from just a one-day tour.
