Bring your own sheets, lots of small bills and an open mind that this is not a western country. Amazing people, culture and everything in between.

    Bad service and liar driver...
    Ahmad Furqan H, Okt. 2017
Bad service and liar driver. We didn't get a guide in the bus, it was only the driver. The guide will appear on the attraction spots. The worst part is, unbelievably the driver can't speak English. It is very unprofessional because the company Thriomphecar should aware that the tour participants come from the various country. Fortunately, there is a lady that can speak Arabic and English so she can translate us the information that comes from the driver. As the description said about a shower in the morning after staying in the desert, in fact, we didn't get it. There were only toilets and not for the shower. They also served bad breakfast. only the Morrocan bread with jam and honey. The driver took us to expensive restaurants for lunch and shops with the high marked-up price. Very late arrival time and they broke the promise to drop us in the station. We aim to catch a train on the night on the last day of the tour. I saw the description mention about the bus will arrive at the Jema al fna at 19.30 and I send them email to make sure the schedule and asked if it would be OK to catch the train at 21:00. The company Thriomphecar replied that it will perfectly OK and suggested us tell the driver to drop at the station on the last day. We did tell the driver and warned him to arrive on time at Marrakech. But still, he drove too slowly. When we reminded him that we want to catch a train, he ask for fee to drop us at the station and to speed him up. We gave him money. Suddenly he changed his mind and said that he couldn't drop us on the station and would stop us a taxi also pay the cost because we have given him money. But then he lied. After getting the taxi, he just went away without gave the money and this caused a major delay. I can't believe how people rate a high score for this trip? How can Viator had a bussiness with this company?

If there was a zero star for this...
    Gauri J, Okt. 2017
If there was a zero star for this trip I would have liked to give this trip that. I have booked several trips on Viator but this one left me feeling cheated. 1. The trip is not operated by the person selling the trip so obviously he did not have any information on this trip. The descriptions and inclusion of this trip are wrong. 2. We had paid way more than the others who joined this trip. This trip sells locally at the destination for at least 50 less. 3. There is no driver / guide. There is only a driver on this trip and one with very poor interpersonal skills. We had no idea about where we are stopping and for what. He was very rude and also drove rashly - at one point he didnt wait for people to be seated, leave alone belted in before driving off 4. There is no air conditioned vehicle though you are told on viator that is what you are paying for. The driver said the AC had broken down within 2 hours of the 3 day long trip, no one believed him. 5. At Merzouga the bags have to be left at a hotel before you head to the camp. There was no information on this and we didnt have another bag to put our overnight things in. 6. I had specifically called the operator to gather information on this trip the day before we left and he had said the driving time was 6 hours day 1, 3 to 4 hours day 2 and 6 hours on the last day. In reality we were in the vehicle including stops for 12 hours, 10 hours and 12 hours. On day 2 we reached AFTER sunset! 7. Most importantly we booked this trip as it included the stop at the Kasbah at Ouarzazate. We were supposed to go to Fes on the last day and I stayed on the tour only so we could also see this famous Kasbah. But it was a shock to me when the driver said that there was no tour / sightseeing on the way back. This meant that we wasted an entire day just sitting in the bus for NOTHING. 8. The stops on day 1 and 2 were with guides who had tie ups with specific shops and there was no way anyone could stop and shop for anything else at any other shop. So typical and we all know why. 9. There were many hidden costs - including expensive lunch stops and fees which are not mentioned in the itinerary. Once at the desert camp, there was a total sales push for everyone to take the jeep back - at an extra cost of course. This tour operator is a scam as is this trip and I have 14 other people who travelled with us to verify all of this.

    Recommend looking into other...
    Madeleine T, Mai 2017
Recommend looking into other tours... This trip could have been drastically improved. On the first day we waited over an hour to be picked up by the your, apparently they forgot about us and then had to turn back around to collect us from our hotel. The bus does A LOT of stops along the way to your first destinations. There were a couple of nice scenic shots of the Atlas Mountains but then every other stop literally once if not more an hour you stop off at pointless places where the driver is basically helping out his friend's businesses, so kind of pointless and annoying. The major stop over on the first day to Ait Ben Haddou was incredible and well worth it though. Accommodation was fine on the first night, nothing too special but you aren't paying to be in luxury. The second day is a long drive to the desert with more stop overs again and a proper outing to a village. Before the desert make sure to buy lots of water because the tour doesn't supply water there and they don't tell you that. The Berber people taking you through the desert were very disinterested in making our time an enjoyable and memorable one. Whilst on the camel ride into the desert you had to ask them to stop so that people could get photos etc. with the camels/the desert. The berbers on the other tours were all making sure to stop at scenic points and take heaps of photos on everyone's cameras. When you get to the camp 1.5hr later the berber people didn't say anything to us and had no activities or sitting areas for us to hang around. Everyone just wandered around the desert unsure what to do. after having lunch at 12:30pm we weren't given dinner until at least 10:30pm and at least 3 other tours joined us for it in a tiny tent. If you're vegetarian do not expect to be catered for in the slightest, the vegos offered to pay more to just have plain vegetables without meat but the berber people refused to do this. After dinner the berber people finally smiled and weren't rude as they played around on some bongos. This was the best part of the night. The sleeping arrangements are just a carpet on the ground basically but I didn't mind as it's one night and you're in the desert so it doesn't really matter. At 5am we were woken up by the berber people to get on the camels. There is no breakfast served. Also there weren't enough camels for the amount of people on the tour somehow and a lot of people have to share a camel with randoms. They didn't let us stop to get photos of the sunrise and the camels unless you really pushed them. After you leave the desert you just get back on the bus and straight back to Marrakech without changing or showering so be prepared for that. Ultimately, it was an incredible experience just because of the extremely different environment and land surrounding you. The tour could easily have been improved without a cost to them. Simple things like arranging dinner earlier, notifying people about where you are and what sites you're looking/taking photos of and basic history of Morocco would have gone a long way. Like I said, I still had an incredible time, however I can see why a lot of people on our tour were unhappy and upset with how things were run.

    Edward A, Jan. 2017
The places you go are great, but everything the tour company provided was poor. Pick up was late, drop off was nowhere near our hotel, the driver was driving manically (most people in Morocco do, but this was insane overtaking on blind corners in the mountains) and the whole tour felt rushed.

    rebeckah_t, Dez. 2016
If you do this trip thinking you will regret if you don't, believe me, you will regret if you do! Unless, that is, you like being herded like a sheep, stopping every now and then so you can give the drivers friends money for some overpriced food or activity. That is not to mention spending the night in the filthiest, coldest, dampest hotel ever known to a human.Even the Moroccan guys who worked at the hotel were freezing - not to mention the fact that the bed I got was covered in long black hairs from a previous occupier! Waking the next day we were herded, freezing back onto the bus and made to trudge up a mountain side to see some woman make rugs they then tried to sell for upwards of 3000 dirhams about 300 each one!. When we finally got to the desert, it was almost dark, and by the time we got to camp it was pitch dark. I am vegetarian and told the guide i couldnt eat the food - he told me It's tagine and only vegetables, eat! - I did and after a few bites discovered that actually, although there were veg, they were mixed with chicken!!! I felt really really ill and tried going to bed - the bed I had to share with another member of the tour who i didnt even know!! We were again woken in the dark in the morning and trudged off on our camels back to where the minibus was parked to eat some kind of semolina pancakes and set off on the 10 1/2 hour drive back to Marrakesh filled by the drivers extra loud music making even listening to your own on earphones absoloutely impossible..... in short, you don't really see the desert, you just sit in the van until you stop somewhere you can make some money for the driver. The hotel is the worst place on earth - I have never known cold like it and that's even after living in both Switzerland, Norway and Iceland in Winter! It's really not worth the time spent to see about an hour at most of the desert in the light! Save your money, go to Essauoira instead!!!

It is worthwhile to try it which should be recommended! The long-time riding on the minivan is a little bit tough. But it is quite impressing for the camel riding and desert life.

Good value for money. Lots of hidden costs be prepared with cash. Some guides are excellent and others bad depending on location. No information provided during the trip. Specially about what to bring/how to prepare for night in the desert. Meeting with Berbers and sunrise on camel was excellent.

    Charalambos S, Aug. 2016
logistical arrangements, the guiding tour in Kasbah Aït Benhaddou and to a Berber village were very interesting, the camel ride and the overnight in desert were unique and worthwhile lifetime experiences, amazing views in Atlas mountains and the desert, guides were very friendly and willing to answer to our questions. - driver a bit impatient and careless at driving like the 90 of moroccan drivers the minibus was full 17 passengers and thus not very comfortable for such a long journey hotel le vallee 2 in the mountains not clean dirty sheets, insects in sheets, bathroom and toilets seemed more like public ones - for 1 night it is ok entertainment at desert camp was poor, 3rd day was very tiring but we knew it from the beginning: we woke up at 5.30 at the camp, rode to the hotel with camels for 1,5h, we had breakfast there, we DID NOT have the opportunity to take a shower, and then at 8am we started the return trip back to Marrakesh. We arrived in Marrakesh at 8pm 10h15 driving, and a total of around 1h45 for stops, including lunch break at certain stops, toilets were not clean enough especially for women do not listen to the guide in Kasbah Ait that the only opportunity to buy desert scarfs will be at his village - you will have plenty of opportunities to buy desert scarfs in the next 1,5 day until the desert ride. overall: recommended but keep in mind the inconveniences mentioned above

Saw so many gorgeous places. Joe was a great driver and we all felt very safe with him. you spend a lot of time you spend in the car, but it can't be avoided due to how far the desert is from Marrakech. they take you to expensive lunch restraints and make you pay additional fees for city tours.
