The guide was very sweet and approachable. He spoke very good english. However, the tour is set up so that you shop in his friends stores for overpriced goods. We told him he walked us into a “tourist trap” and he pretended like he did not understand. I would suggest booking this and telling him not to take you to buy stuff from friends stores and HELP you when you are trying to negotiate. We stopped by a shop of our own choosing and he did not even try to help whatsoever.

To clarify, I had trouble working with this customer. The client was impolite, rude to me, showing off in front of his girlfriend and rejected me many times when I was trying to do my job. A very delicate situation which put me on pressure. He was making fun of me and provoke me many times. At the meanwhile, he was overwhelmed in the market and he thought that all the shops in the souks are my friends and it is only a tourist trap as he claimed. Moreover, he was not interested at all, the only request he was asking for is Chicha pipe and night clubs. He does not want to see anything and once his girlfriend stopped to buy argan oil, he wasn't happy at all, because he didn't care and doesn't want to spent money. How can i help someone to negotiate, while he is uninterested? and looks weir. In addition to this, he tried to cut the tour short and tip me to end the tour sooner. He claimed on the review that the souks is a tourist trap, while the crafts are handmade and genuine. Most of the feedback we get from our guests, are very positive because they have read the content and they know what to expect in advance. To sum up, the review is inappropriate, and does not describ the real experience.

A wonderful tour! Our guide was great, really knowledgeable and interesting. We saw a lot of local trades and met some wonderful people along the way! Highly recommend for first time visitors to the Souks.

Poor value for money although the souks are definitely worth a visit.

Firstly, a guided tour to the souks is a must when in Marrakech. Our problem is that for the money paid (£51) for a couple, we think it provided poor value for money. Whilst Ahmed was on time and pleasant, he only spoke in very general terms about the souks, leaving individual (unpaid) shop/collective owners to explain about their goods, whilst Ahmed either disappeared or caught up with old friends. Without a guide, you will either get lost or miss many of the shops in the souks so whilst I recommend a tour, I cannot recommend this tour at this price.

Colorful Souk is a Beehive of Activity

The souks are the lifeblood of Marrakech. There is not a thing you can’t buy amongst this gigantic labyrinth teaming with activity. Throw in the occasional donkey cart and high speed scooter and you have an exciting cacophony of sights, sounds and smells. Our guide Mohammed knows the souk like the back of his hand. He was very informative and proud of his birthplace and rightfully so. On the other side of the coin, 3 hours in the back alleyways of the souk, can be sensory overload. Wear good shoes and be prepared.

Such an incredible time! We loved our afternoon with Mohammed! He showed us so many incredible local spots and exposed us to the process of its artisans. He also took us to little local places for food which was delicious. He made sure that we were safe and knew what to expect going into the souks. He took amazing care of us and made sure we got great deals. I highly recommend this tour!!

We booked this tour for our first full day in Marrakech, after reading how easy it is to get lost in the souk! The tour certainly helped us to explore the different parts of the souk, and we learned lots about the culture and history in Marrakech from Mohamed, Sadly, we didn't really get much opportunity to shop at all! We didn't even enter a shop until quite some time into the tour! Then apart from the standard pharmacy sales pitch (which it seems happens on every tour of Marrakech!), we were whisked in and out of shops, with no real time to browse or purchase. I was trying to look at some goods, and the tour was already moving on, so I had to leave! We were hoping for more of an introduction to shopping, to haggling and it would have been more helpful if Mohamed had consulted with the group about what they wanted to buy or see.

Mohammed was a really interesting and informative guide. He's very knowledgeable about Marrakesh and the local area. He guided us around the medina and deep into the souk, stopping frequently and explaining interesting facts. The tour visits several artists and shops, meeting the shopkeepers plying their skills whilst making a living. As it was our first day in Marrakesh, Mo was also very helpful in giving us tips whilst answering our questions.

We really enjoyed this tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and we really felt that we that we got to see another, secret, side of the souks. Very interesting. It left us more confident going through them the next day ourselves. I would recommend this tour. However, do not buy from the vendors you visit on the tour. Unfortunately we were over charged for goods, specifically in the carpet shop. I understand there is bartering going on, but even after lots of negotiations, the things we bought were half the price in other shops the next day! We felt let down and disappointed that our guide stood by while we were talked into paying more than we should have. I suppose there was commission in it for him, but this should have been explained.

This wast the first tour, we did when we arrived. It allowed us to get a feel for the city. Mohammad was a helpful guide. He took us to a couple of nice shops and was a true gentlemen with my Mother by helping with her bags and protecting us from the crazy traffic.

We wouldn't have made it through the souks without Mohamed. The alleys were narrow and confusing. Having Mohamed, who was so kind, made the heat of the day become an afterthought. He was patient, kind and advised us on things that are considered disrespectful to vendors (ie taking pictures in certain areas). Lunch was amazing, as was the tour and personal presentations by certain vendors. Mohamed created our tour based on our requests and was patient enough to take us back to our first stop (of very many) to make an additional purchase. I recommend a private tour with Mohamed for everyone visiting the souk!

For once i use to do this kind of activity during a stay in a city. But wahou, it will be the last time if my life. At first, it’s expensive, the guide were stressed and upset about Time, they’ve explained almost nothing and They bring us to an Herboristerie (apotheke) to get extra explications and probably a nice commission.
