Abdul and the other guides were great. Very insightful tour of the valleys and we visited various other sites such as an argon oil shop (although prices were a bit steep). The guides were patient and made sure the whole group of us at the back was always there.

Good experience but not as described

I don’t think the write-up truly describes what happens on this experience although I can happily report the team were both helpful and supportive and I survived the experience reasonably well. Firstly I thought it was a hike - and then an unhelpful reviewer said it was more of a stroll than a hike which buoyed me up as it being potentially “do-able”. I’m a year off 60 and extremely sedentary (as is my husband who will be 61 this year). So after a few interesting stops we reach the village and start our trek to the waterfalls. At first I think we’ll spend 1.5 hours by the falls until I learn we’ll be walking for that long. You start by crossing a fast river over a bridge with a small (4ft?) drop either side with no grab rails, and walk over muddy or rocky areas and then up concrete steps (50-60?) with shops as you walk along trying to sell their wares. Just as you think the worst is over and you stop a passerby going the opposite way to check you find out its another 30-40 minutes climb. One person cheerily said they couldn’t do it! When I say climb, you are now in the realms of walking/meandering slowly up the mountainside picking your way through and up boulders - and at 5ft 1” some of the boulders were too high to be easily navigated without a helpful pull up. The worrying part was the small stones combined with the water winding its way through your route sometimes caused my shoes to skid. In one place just before the waterfall there were stepping stones to navigate to cross a stream and I did worry about slipping. After this it was lifting yourself up a number of small boulders c20 feet up and it got a bit harder and steeper. The waterfall was “ ok” but the only reason I kept going is that the guide promised after the next climb upwards, we would start to descend and that the route down would be far easier. So after 5 mins taking photos around the waterfall we went up 20 or so steps to a lounge area and I was invited to sit down (probably before I fell). The guide pretty much had held my hand most of the way up (bless him) as I was struggling - my legs were like jelly and I was reasonably tired and breathing hard. After an orange juice, we started to climb more stairs and then it turned back to mild rock scrambling again. The problem now is there was a long drop and just over half a metre space to walk. This is plenty for people who are happy with heights but I have a fear of heights so I couldnt look down but just had to focus on sticking as close to the rock face and watching that I didnt trip. Again, parts were difficult navigating so the trusty guide was there again helping. Gradually we started to descend and the area widened out so I could enjoy the views. I couldnt relax enough to take photos during the difficult parts to show you and nor could my hubby who also found it hard (he didnt need much help and had climbed in his younger days). To be honest I wouldn’t have done the trip had I known fully what was in store. An Egyptian lady aged 60 also needed a lot of help and at one point didn’t want to continue to go on. At the end, with jellied legs I did feel relief and a sense of achievement for going. I’m still puzzled by the request for smart dress and no jeans or trainers - I wore my dress trousers and told hubby it was just as well I hadnt teamed it with my high heels. Someone was having a laugh when they wrote that. If you like heights and scrambling up boulders and are reasonably fit then it’s not dire and the fitter you are the more fun you’ll have for sure. I was truly tired at the end and it was an effort to climb into the waiting van. The restaurant was nice afterwards but I swore as it was maybe another 30 steps down to the river from the road, which meant another climb again. My Apple watch was happy to report I’d completed all my exercise rings for the day! So overall, not for me but well run and nice crew but the explanation needs to be better for people to make an informed choice.

Un día muy chulo, sitio muy bonito y guías muy amables y agradables un día estupendo pasamos..., La subida a las cataratas cuesta un poquito pero merece mucho la pena, super recomendable. El guía de la ruta a las cascadas también muy bien.

Belle vallée colorée

Très belle vallée située dans les montagnes. La vallée est vivante et colorée par diverses commerces et restos. Un chauffeur est venu nous récupérer à notre résidence. Nous avons fait un premier arrêt dans une coopérative d'huile d'argan. Les produits sont très très chers 25e les 100 ml d'huile d'argan. Ensuite nous avons effectué une randonnée d'1h30 dans Ourika où nous avons pu admirer une très belle cascade et un magnifique paysage. Il y a de nombreux commerces pour acheter des souvenirs mais pour cela il ne faut pas hésiter à négocier avec les locaux et diviser par 2 le tarif proposé par le vendeur. On a terminé par un déjeuner très copieux et délicieux le long de la rivière. Je vous recommande à 300% cette excursion vous ne serez pas déçus.

Une vallée magnifique Un guide (non compris - payé 2 euros) extraordinaire , à l’écoute et très disponible durant 2h randonnée avec des paysages magnifiques Chauffeur du car : vigilant sur la route Repas au bord de la rivière (12 euros) un peu cher pour la quantité mais de bonne qualité Visite de la coop de argan: très pédagogique et explications très éducatives Visite d’une maison berbère : à revoir Toute la journée, Saïd nous a guidé de façon t’es professionnel et très disponible Grand merci pour cette belle journée

Il trekking fino alle cascate è abbastanza difficile ma sopra il paesaggio ed il panorama sono stupendi. Abbiamo visitato una casa beduina ed una fabbrica artigianale di donne che producono olio di argan. Autista e guida sono stati eccezionali.

Muy buena excursion. Salimos puntual, nos recogieron cerca del Riad. La guia muy bien. Lo mejor la subida a las cataratas y sobre to do el guia Karim. Una de nosotros se retrasaba y la ayudó a subir. Todos muy amablea y profesionales. Luego nos llevaron a comer y estuvo bien

Excursión bastante interesante. Los guías y conductor muy simpáticos. El recorrido se hace muy ameno porque te adentras por un paisaje muy bonito entre montañas. También hacemos varias paradas que al final lo hacen entretenido. Quizás demasiadas paradas puesto que cada parada es en algún lugar para que te enseñen algo y a su vez vender algo. Una vez allí todo es muy bonito, el guía súper simpático. Se recorre un camino a pie subiendo rocas muy entretenido. Al lado del Río, viendo los monos y el paisaje. La comida del restaurante que nos dejaron y que se paga aparte, sin más… no es caro, pero no es ninguna comida del otro mundo… prefiero la de los restaurantes de marrakech. A la vuelta otra parada en casa beréber. Al menos las paradas son rápidas! Lo negativo de la excursión fue que intenté ponerme en contacto escribí x WhatsApp para preguntar tema vestimenta por temperaturas que hacen allí etc y no tuvimos respuesta. Lo que provocó que en alguna ocasión tuviésemos frío o echásemos en falta alguna chaquetilla o cortavientos. Pero en general excursión muy recomendable
