Get up early to get down

Had a great time going down the mountain with my 15 year old son. As long as you obey the rules it is safe. The van trails you down the mountain to slow down and/or stop cars from passing you. My favorite was the unattended 5 mile lazy coasting back to the headquarters I think I pedaled twice the whole time I was on the bike. Stopped in a small town for Pog and malasadas. Manny, a native, was super friendly Bring a hoodie for the mountain top it’s in the mid 50’s.

Trip advertised as half day with two runs down. Due to weather the distance of the ride down was reduced and we did one ride. So we were back at the start very early and no offer of a partial refund.

If I could give this excursion of zero I would. Not accurate on your descriptions on the website are not In accurate representation of the actual ride. We picked this ride because it was supposed to go down to Paia and the beach. They do not advertise on their website that they no longer go to the volcano at the national park. We found that out after we already paid for the trip. We did not feel very comfortable on the bikes and they did not appear to be in good working condition. Avoid this excursion and save your money.

Aloha. This person booked his tour with a third party booking company website not on ours. We do have tours that go into Haleakala National Park which could have been booked by this person. As you can see on the description headline of the tour he booked it says 6500 feet not 10,000 which is the elevation of the summit in the National Park. Also this particular tour did end in Paia at sea level. Our bikes are checked every day and are all in great working condition. It can be seen on the other reviews an accurate portrayal of the tours. Hi Jochen Looks like you chose the wrong tour. Our sunrise tour goes from the summit to the Sea. Our day tour is an express tour starting outside the park. Then down to Paia town. Come try the sunrise you won't be disappointed.

Mountain Riders Haleakala Bike Tour was such a fun excursion. Our family booked the guided tour with Bobby and Nani and they were awesome guides keeping us well informed from the beginning and safe while guiding us down the volcano. We loved the photo stop while driving up Haleakala and the lunch break in the town of Makawao. We would recommend Mountain Riders to everyone.

The beautiful countryside we passed through was amazing! It was a fun but safe thrill ride down the crater. We loved our stop in Makawao. Wish we had longer to explore ! It was so qusint and funky. Manny and Shane were fantastic!! They were so knowledgeable and helpful and the equipment was in good shape. Bike ride was fun, SAFE, and easy- all brake no pedal. Guide is a must!! The little town of Makawao was fun to see. The Maui Cookie lady is amazing!!

Thrilling but controlled fun biking down the mountain guided by Manny. We were very fortunate with the weather, clear skies at top before rain clouds moved in only an hour after our decent. Great value for the price. Do it, you won’t be disappointed.

Most amazing view! Very safe & easy and all down hill. The guide uis in front and a van in back. keeping bike riders protected from traffic. Take note, you will not see crater or enter park on this tour. Nice stop in Makawao for lunch. Be sure & stop by cookie lady here. Wonderful friendly guides. Be sure to bring cash for 15 to 20% tip!

Bobbie & Nanie we’re our guides & they were very entertaining & professional. Be prepared for colder temps on the mountain, but was a great exhilarating ride down the mountain! Can’t ride your breaks down the mountain, so this may not be for you if your afraid of some speed. The bike were comfortable and safe. Scenery in the “Up Country” was true Maui & the wonderful scent of the flowers & trees along the way were sensational! Would highly recommend this tour!!

It was a blast! Every time I come to Maui I will do this! The staff was very helpful and accommodating! It was one of the best activities we have done. If you are in Maui you MUST do this!!! The scenery was phenomenal, it was so exciting riding down the mountain on a bike. I always felt safe and in control.
