My wife and I had the opportunity to experience the Haleakalā National Park Hike + Summit tour from Humble Tours today, and we both had a great time! Our guide Steven was excellent! He provided a lot of great information about Haleakalā and the surrounding area (including other nearby islands and mountains), and he also shared his knowledge of Hawaiian culture, local plants, flowers and birds. The tour included transportation to and from the mountain from a central meeting location, warm jackets and backpacks for those who needed them, along with an unlimited supply of water and snacks and even a great lunch. Steven hiked with us on three great trails, and he even helped us to capture some nice pictures of the area. We would highly recommend this tour and guide!

Excellent pretrip communication w company; on time meeting at pick up point; knowledgeable guide made good decisions as to how to best utilize our time although weather permitted only 2 of 3 scheduled hikes. Company provided warm jackets. I would recommend bringing a hiking pole as walk g on wet, slippery roots and rocks can be difficult.

Extremely disappointing…..for a seven hour trip, we slowly walked for a total of 30 minutes the entire time. Steve, our guide said he would assess the clouds and wind and told us that when he got to the mountain if we could not hike, he would reimburse us. Instead of that, we slowly walked for maybe a total of the most one mile and then he took us to a tea shop, a souvenir shop, and a mountain museum. This Viator is advertised as a 5 mile hike for physically fit people. They were many other groups and families that were hiking the park summit while we were there because conditions were fine! This hike was the most expensive, and advertised as the most challenging available on Viator. I wish he would have canceled the “walk” and given us our money back!

Awesome Hiking Tour

I loved this hiking tour! Our guide/driver Steven was friendly and knowledgeable. We had 3 different parts of the park to hike, and each had different characters and lengths. Steven made consideration to everyone's physical levels and made sure everyone was safe and enjoying the hiking. Everywhere we hiked had spectacular views, and it was hard to capture in the photos. The trail after lunch was the forest hike, and I did enjoy the birds' singing the entire time. From the beginning to the end, I didn't feel like we were rushed to do anything, and it was a laid-back, relaxing hike. Overall this hiking tour was A+, and I would highly recommend it.

I love hiking, enjoying outdoor activities and seeing mother nature. Unfortunately, car rental for a day is just not an option for me. This company tour realized my dream. Steven drove me and other 2 people to this magnificent national park. He hiked with us and shared amazing stories about this island such as how billionaires bought some islands. The first hiking trail is like walking among the clouds. It's so misty, fun and unique ! I need to wear prescription eyeglasses so a bit uncomfortable for me but it's fine ! ( I forget the name of this trail ) The second hiking trail is sliding sands trail. This trail is a bit tougher than the first one due to higher elevation and lack of oxygen but I love the challenge ! The view is once in a lifetime for me. Beware of UV index here ! Next, we had lunch. I think the lunch was well prepared as there were sandwich, fruits , cookies and chips . I wish there is banana as it's a good source of energy. After lunch, he showed us a short hiking trail thru an amazing forest Overall, the tour is well-designed and I love it a lot. I wish Steven could pick me up from airport.

My husband and I loved hiking Haleakala National Park. We both had the chance to see the beauty within the crater and witnessed the rare silver sword plant that only grows on the Summit and is an endemic species. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about Hawaiian plant life and geological formations. We highly recommend anyone that visits Maui, Hawaii to add this to their excursions!

Steve did an excellent job on this tour! He was very knowledgeable and efficient. In half a day, we were able to complete 3 hikes and learn a lot more about the beautiful island of Maui. He taught us botany, geology, geography, history, and linguistics! Perfect for nerds like us. And the views were spectacular to say the least. What a great way to see all the best spots Haleakala has to offer. Steve also helped us take great photos of everyone in our group. 10/10 recommend.

We had an amazing experience and really enjoyed this experience! Steven was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and so accommodating. The only reason we did not rate it at 5 stars was we had hoped to go further into the crater on hike #2. That being said...Steven again was knowledgeable enough to know that the rising temperatures was going to make it really uncomfortable, plus we had just come off of the first hike. We hope that maybe next time there will be an option to just do the crater hike going in further! Thank you for a great day!

What a spectacular tour! We are so glad we decided to have a guide instead of doing ourselves. Steven was phenomenal from driving the winding road up to the summit and providing some history and fun stories. There are no pictures that could truly capture the experience and scenery when seeing from your own eyes. The hike was fun and moderate challenging but nothing one can't handle if you don't excert yourself. Steven did not rush us and made sure everyone in the group was okay. Don't hesitate to book this tour, so much fun!

Steven is passionate and caring! He is embedded the Spirit of Maui Hawaii! He shared his wisdom about Nature, Plants, Herbs, History, Rocks, Birds. We saw 4-5 Hawaiian Owls (spiritual animal meaning “Lucky”) which were very unusual and magical. We enjoyed hiking with MAGIC Carpet Ride floating hovering on the Cloud. The delicious Lunch vegetarian option was provided. He picked me up and sent me back at my place in Kihei. His driving was so smooth, pleasant and safe up to the mountain and back. We had Steven as our tour guide and he was awesome! We were fortunate to catch the crater portion of the park early in the morning before the clouds rolled in. I love how we had the opportunity to experience 4 different climates all in one park. Steven was also very knowledgable and friendly. The snacks and lunch provided were healthy, delicious, and filling. The van we rode in was also very spacious (10-person passengers); though, we were fortunate that there were only 5 total people (including the tour guide) so there was plenty of room to social distance, spread out, and not feel crammed. The jackets provided also came in handy and were incredibly comfortable, especially since the weather is very unpredictable and can change in an instant at Haleakalā. I would highly recommend this company (Humble Tours) and this tour to anyone who can handle the physical challenge!
