    Didn't get to see the sunrise because of rain but that's the chances. It was a nice calm drive up the mountain. The lined ponchos where a really nice touch. Breakfast was a really pretty place. Would recommend.

    This trip was absolutely amazing! Our family of four did this as our last excursion and I’m so glad we ended with this. Billy and Spencer were awesome tour guides. Our 9 and 7 year old made this trip and were able to handle the whole thing. The sunrise is something none of us will ever forget. The breakfast on the way home was delicious and a wonderful ending to the experience.

    We booked the sunrise tour last minute on our honeymoon. Our guides were knowledgeable and friendly - making us feel welcome while also giving us room to explore. It was very cold at the top of the mountain and they gave us ponchos to keep us warm. Seeing the sunrise over the clouds was a once in a lifetime experience and definitely worth it!

    I do not recommend this tour. The odds of a sunset are not in your favor even in the summer and there’s no guarantee of a refund if the conditions are horrendous like we incurred. My sister, mother, and I attended the July 11th Sunrise tour. The tour guide brought his granddaughter to “help”. In reality, she slept the entire trip and only got up at the end to walk us to the breakfast area. She grabbed breakfast to go and returned to bud to sleep. This tour is suppose to be ADA/wheelchair accessible. My mother has a walker that folds up and when we called to confirm the day before we let them know we were bringing her walker. The guide made no effort to help load the walker on the bus and I didn’t expect him but ignored the fact he could have made it easier for us to load. He told me to put it in the back, so I had to carry it through the aisle hitting people (not on purpose the aisle is very narrow) and put it in the back and had to do this the few times we got on and off. there was a door in the back of the bus that would have been easier to load it into and out and I am not sure why the guide couldn’t have opened that so I could have loaded it through the back. The other accommodation that would have been helpful is if my mother could have been sitting in the front row instead of the sleeping granddaughter. When we got up towards the top, the guide just kept repeating “this is what you signed up for” The tour I signed up for based on the description was to see a beautiful sunrise with cold weather and maybe some light wind. HAHA What we actually got was strong winds, sleet/rain, and completely clouded out. We had to stand outside for an hour in these conditions to “hold our spot”, while holding on to the unusual rain/fleece poncho contraption that sorta helped but not really. Aggressively shivering and trying to stay warm was the goal. After freezing for over an hour we were disappointed to find out the sunrise was clouded out. Actual long jackets, hats, gloves need to be provided for this tour. It’s too difficult to bring these in a suitcase. We got back on the bus and the tour guide air dropped us photos of what the sunset “could” be. It felt like it putting salt in a wound. Because we came back early, the guide brought us to a Starbucks to wait to go to our breakfast spot. But it would have been nice to go directly to the restaurant because there were some shops but they may have not been open so maybe that was the reason. Breakfast was served late and cold. There were only two servers, they were doing the best they could. We had about 5 mins to walk through shops and would have liked more time.

    The tour was well done, they communicated very well from beginning to end. They always answered my questions and even gave me a wake up call so I wouldn't miss my tour. The bus had USB ports so I could charge my phone, the tour guides were very nice and knowledgeable about the park. The tour bus was roomy, the guides were ready to give us warmth ponchos if we needed them, which I did because it was at least 40F up there. The sight was like nothing I had seen before, it felt like the sky was on fire. Some of the other tour guides from another group started chanting E Ala E which is a chant for the rising sun. We had many opportunities for videos and pictures and even told us to get off the bus as soon as possible and not let go of our spot because it would get full really quickly. We drove down again to a former sugar planation for breakfast and it was excellent. We had some time to explore and were done by 10 am. Overall a great experience and look forward to booking with this group again.

    Amazing sunrise viewing! Bring a hat and gloves because it is cold!! We were glad we did not have to make the drive in the dark ourselves on the narrow roads without guardrails. Our guides did a great job navigating and explaining more facts on the way down. Breakfast at Cafe Ole was delicious and we enjoyed walking around the plantation for a bit before heading back.

    There are no words to express how breathtakingly beautiful this tour was! This was a bucket list item that I’ve wanted to check off for so long. Valley Isle Excursions and specifically Alex and his son were the best! You forget that you’re sleep deprived because you can’t get that sunrise anywhere!

    Looking at the sunrise and viewing the crater from the summit was awesome! We also saw the Mona loa and the Mona kea volcanoes from the summit of Haleakala.
