Wenn Sie die Geschichte lieben, ist dies eine großartige Tour. Ich habe so viel über die Geschichte und die Bedeutung von Pittsburgh für den Zweiten Weltkrieg und so viele andere bedeutende historische Ereignisse gelernt. Ich wusste zum Beispiel nicht, wie Pittsburgh eine Schlüsselrolle bei der nächsten technologischen Revolution fahrerloser Autos spielt. Es hat mich umgehauen und sogar die Art und Weise verändert, wie ich mich meiner aktuellen Anlagestrategie nähere. Es war das Geld wert. Meine Frau und ich haben es geliebt. 😊

This tour was very deceiving, the tour took place inside a personal vehicle and showing us pictures from a book Not once did we see any kind of steel mills. Your advertisement shows a group of people wearing hard hats and walking around the mills. I felt it was false advertisement. I would like a full refund, who do I contact?

Because the steel industry is a fraction of what it was this is the only way to explore the rich history of steel in Pittsburgh. Charles has a thorough knowledge of the subject that is supplemented with a binder of past pictures and maps. Pair with a trip to the Heinz Museum Innovations exhibition to get a sense of Pittsburgh’s history.

The tour guide, George's personal link through his family, to the history of Pittsburgh, really made the town come alive. His encyclopedic knowledge was fascinating. Two hours flew by. I highly recommend this.

Not a good experience

BEWARE. When you make a reservation 2 months ahead of time, 7,5,3,2 days ahead of time requesting start time and more information, they don’t respond something is wrong. I had NO start time so went in to cancel and it said cancel no refund. Called viator at 8:05 the day before, they called the tour operator and he said he was planning to call sometime after 9. Well I had plans for most of the day. I requested the phone #. I called the tour operator 8:25, requested what this entailed, pick up etc. as I wanted to be picked up at the hotel which was not downtown he proceeded to tell me I would spend over 1/2 my time in traffic but he could talk about the places that we most likely would not see. I said I’m not interested and said I want to cancel. He proceeded to tell me he then would make sure we saw everything. I then asked why this could not have had a start time given some time ago and why he didn’t respond to any of my messages? His answer “he was too busy”. At that time I became very upset and demanded my $$back. He said he would pick me up anytime I wanted. I was not interested as he didn’t consider my time and answer my requests. I wanted no part of someone That’s inconsiderate. I hung up and called viator. After 2 phone calls on my part, which consisted of over an hour of my time, 3 replies to viator email. Viator refunded my money as the tour director GEORGE would not. Kudos to Viator.

Oh George, where do we start?! We are so glad we found this tour and booked it. Your stories were endless and rich. My dad, a native of Western Pennsylvanian and formidable storyteller himself, cannot stop raving about the experience. For anyone deciding if the tour is worth it, just know, that an afternoon with George will teach you so much about life, our country in its infancy, and what makes Pittsburgh so special.
