Diese Food-Tour war ERSTAUNLICH! ! ! Wir gingen durch das PDC-Gebiet und aßen die köstlichsten Tacos, Empanadas, Pozole und erfrischende Eis am Stiel, um die Tour zu beenden. Alles war besser als erwartet, die Getränke waren großartig, wir konnten lokale Früchte probieren und das Essen und die Leute waren großartig! Unser Gastgeber war super wärmend, freundlich und einladend. Dieses Erlebnis möchten Sie sich nicht entgehen lassen.

Xantal war sehr freundlich und informativ und wir haben an vielen Orten gegessen, die wir vorher nie erkundet hätten. Genossen frisch zubereitete Straßen-Tacos, Korb-Tacos, Quesadilla, Empanadas, Suppe, Obst, Eis am Stiel, Kochbananen-Tacos und mehr. Besuchte auch einen lokalen Supermarkt. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen, wenn Sie in Playa del Carmen übernachten. Es ist gut, die 5th Avenue zu verlassen und authentisches Essen zu probieren, das die Einheimischen essen.

There were three of us on this tour. We were picked up on time. Our guide spoke excellent English, which was helpful, because of the nature of the event. She started us by explaining to what was required legally from these food vendors to hold a license. It included regular health screenings and blood work to go along with a license. We started with a tasing of a family-owned business and had a choice of three to sample. She talked about the pork taco and how the meat was good underground overnight. It was amazing. We left this area by cab and went to a lest touristy neighborhood and walked to perhaps four more trucks tasting very different food. Some were vegetarian. All were really good. The next stop was an indoor vegetable and spice store. We spent about 40 minutes learning about Mexican spices and how to use the. the last two stops were for a bowl of soup and finally some ice cream. Our guide was engaging and interesting and a very nice lady. Great way to spend a morning. We wrapped up around 1.

Our guide Xantal was wonderful. The tour company had suggested we postpone the tour due to the heavy rains of tropical storm Cindy but we love the rain and persisted. Xantal was a great sport about it. The foods were all delicious, but the Cochinita Pibil young pig cooked in a pit one of those taste treats that defies hyperbole. I will do this again on my next trip here and take better notes next time.

This tour was perfect, just what we were looking for. Xantal took us to several eateries and described how their preparation and cooking methods were authentic. The food was very tasty! This tour was the first thing we did in our 8 day trip and it was totally worth it! We had delicious interesting food in 5 locations and we really enjoyed the trip to a market. We went back to the market multiple times to get unusual fruits and also enjoy the refreshing smoothies sold by the attached restaurant. Our guides were friendly, knowledgeable and fun to talk with - very low key. It was like hanging out with friends eating really good cheap food - what more can you ask for?!

If you really want to get immersed into real Mexican cuisine the local way and learn more about its variations this tour is the way to go. We would never had tried those places on our own. The food was amazing and different in each place and our chef guide fantastic! She took care of everything. This tour was really worth it. Hint: do not eat breakfast, you will need enough tummy space for all the food and dessert to come!
