Ray was a great guide with a lot of suggestions for other places to visit. We had the most amazing lobster rolls and all of the other food was great too. Loved the chocolates at Dean’s Sweets!

Fun tours. Lots of food

Guide was Ray a professor of history amongst things. Very friendly, informative and passionate about food . Lots of food not just seafood. Tour was posted as 2 hours but lasted 3.5 hours due to the amount of information and the small group chatting. Worth the cost

AJ was very knowledgeable of oysters , but felt at the end we were rushed (being only two couples on tour) having our lobster roll.. we then went to get ice cream… she got a regular scoop, the four of us were only allowed a kiddie cup! $150 per person was alot of $ for this tour…. Maybe worth $100… at 1:25 she was ready to end tour and leave us!

Dear Sheree, Thanks for taking. the tour and sharing the feedback. We always appreciate hearing from our guests even though we are sorry to read your message. We charge $145.99. so if you have paid $150, that was a markup with Viator/Trip Advisor. After Viator takes their commission of 22% off the top to pay the actual operators, in our case we are paid less than $114. pp. So. it's important to know this. We have also found that most guests are too full to want a full size cone after enjoying oysters, chowders, fish tacos, full lobster rolls and a few beers, but in this case, we apologize you wanted a bit more. In speaking with your guide, AJ, your tour typically lasts 2.5-3 hours, depending upon the size of the group. Where you had a smaller group, things often move along a bit more quickly. We apologize if AJ. seemed to be in a rush as she is generally a 5-star guide who loves her work and often goes overtime! Thank you again for joining us. We are sorry we did not measure up, but hope this perspective is valuable.

Maine Foodie Tour and tour guide AJ was a fantastic food tour--the best I have ever been on and I try to participate in Food Tours in every city I visit! My husband and I have done many food tours and this one was definitely one of our favorites. Everything we ate was so good and our tour guide AJ was amazing! We were bummed to have rainy days on our Portland trip. However, Jason - our tour guide - made up for the weather with his shining personality and bubbly spirit. The information & stories he shared along our way to our food stops was delightful. Best of all, the seafood was great and we had plenty! Highlights were the amazing seafood chowder, the fish tacos, and the terrific lobster roll. It was a real treat and a highlight of our trip. Thank you Jason!

Disappointing

We were pretty disappointed, mainly at the length of/information given in the tour. This could’ve easily been consolidated into 1 1/2 hours. The information provided by the tour guide was not useful and mainly subjective (you should try pot if you haven’t, promoting his business, calling retirees “old people”). Food and beer was excellent but the tour information left a terrible taste in our mouth.

No need to eat before you come! The portions are huge and delicious. Lots of people were thinking about skipping dinner, too (myself included). Seafood chowder at Gilbert’s was a real stand out, but ALL the food was amazing. Our guide, AJ, really made this tour incredible. She really knew her stuff, and her passion for the food she was sharing with us, and Portland in general, brought so much to the experience.
