We booked the afternoon tour. Communication was good before the trip...a message informing us of pick up time and location. Pick up was earlier than booking time - not sure if this is usual, but just bear in mind if you have other things booked on the same day. Alex, the tour guide, was friendly, knowledgeable and funny. He allowed time for own exploration of sites as well as photos. He even gave us best locations for pictures and offered to take some himself where the background was perfect. The transport was adequate and the group was small. Overall a fantastic afternoon!!

Must Do Highlight in San Antonio

Alex was an excellent guide! This was the highlight of our trip to San Antonio and I would highly recommend it. We learned so much about the history and culture of the area. Alex provided great information and kindly offered to take many group photos for us. We booked on a Sunday afternoon and even got to hear a mariachi band that was part of a service which was such a special experience. We really appreciate all of the effort Alex put in to making the tour so memorable!

Our guide was wonderfully accommodating and knowledgeable. Having some knowledge of the missions, I was most impressed with the information about the aqueduct, about which I knew nothing. The only thing that disappointed me was the whitewashing of the stories of how the indigenous people were treated. We know far too much now to accept that the missions took them in and helped them. They were forced, in many unpleasant ways to live a totally new way of life. I certainly wouldn’t want to see all of the meanness laid out, but I would like to hear less of how kind priests and nuns took people in and helped them to acclimate.

We were never picked up for the tour

The tour operator had a big snafu - we’d had a morning tour scheduled and had to reschedule it for the same afternoon. Unfortunately, the operator didn’t make the correction in their system and we were never picked. This wasn’t Viators fault because their info was updated properly. Yeah, we were pretty bummed because this was the tour we were really looking forward to. We did get a refund.

Missions just beautiful. The only negative thing, your booking states Mt our starts at a certain time. Example 1:30. At 12:20 we recvd message our driver was picking us up at 12:30. Couple could not join the tour because of this. No where did it state an hour early pickup for a 1:30. Tour.

We took the San Antonio Unesco Missions Tour while there with friends celebrating their 50th high school reunion. Hex G was our tour guide and he was wonderful! He was informative and we all enjoyed his sense of humor. The tour was very interesting and we learned quite a bit about local history along with seeing the missions and the beautiful churches within the missions. Great tour!!!
