Event was cancelled- they texted house land line instead of cell. Should ask for texting number instead of just phone number. We we looking forward to this excursion- not reliable tour guides.

Salmon spawning in the river was incredible and fantastic close ups of bears and raptors. Also amazing sights of totems. Although the tour was short it packed a lot in. Thanks

The fortress was amazing our driver made it perfect!! Told us all about the area and stopped off the path to see more salmon… and gave us lots of recommendations for places to see and eat - he was great!

Our guide Rob was great giving us tons of info about Sitka. We all loved Fortress of the Bear learning a lot about the Black and Brown bears. We thought we were going to miss the tour as the cruise ship was late. They were so responsive they sent a van for us to the port!!!! Would definitely recommend this tour!!!!!

We did not allowed to take the tour because we didn't get to the tour on time, We were only 10 minutes late and were told the tour already left. We are very disappointed.

Amazing up close experience with rescued bald and golden eagles, owls and other raptors and with black and brown bears, then a brief but informative visit to Sitka National Park, where an indigenous craftsman works to replace aging totems. Our guide was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

We had a great time seeing the bears, raptors, and totems. All the staff is so passionate about what they do (shoutout to Mike) and the trip was super informative. We got some great pictures as well and wished we had more time in the area before our ship left!

So-so in Sitka

Locations were fine but overall, blah. 10 passengers in a 10 person van so snug. Those lucky to get seats up front never changed. Could not hear your guide at all. Microphone either not close enough to mouth or broke. Could only say turn it up so much. Gave up. Bird sanctuary is self guided. Presentation by staff only for ‘large bus group’. Quick stop at totems but not long enough to walk a path. Loved the bears!! 8 in total and plenty of time to watch them play. Was on a cruise and only way to see bears is with a tour. No general admission when cruise ships are in port.

The bears were amazing ! I enjoy the setting of a smaller group to tour with, I think we had 11 total. We had 4 and another couple of groups. Our guide was very knowledgable.

Perfect amount of time at each location. Would definitely stay longer at Totem park and talk short walk back to drop off point instead of being dropped of by tour driver.

It was all great, just weren't allowed enough time at the Totem Park to explore it more. Way more to see than what we were allowed in the 20 minutes they scheduled us to be there.

Christian Fabian- how do you forget this name. He is from Germany, but a Jazz band musician who fell in love with Sitka. He comes here to vacation, and hustle on the side. He also is a grammy winner! Ok- he was funny, and honest. I would go with local tours, so they’d be able to earn $$. My preferred- deal with mom and pops- more genuine. I appreciate visiting the bear fortress and the raptor center. We also met the founder Les(sp) of the bear fortress. My son was able to earn his junior ranger badge as well. While, I wish the national park trip could have been longer- so I can take in all the lovely nature. It’s been a great experience to learn about the history of Sitka!

Fortress of the Bear, while small, was fun and different. Sitka National Park (Totems) was interesting. Our guide/driver, Jim, was very knowledgeable about the area and the stops. BTW, we booked this independently, not via the cruise line.

My family and I booked this excursion while on a cruise to Alaska. I bought 6 tickets, I realized I put in the wrong date so I called viator and was told I couldn’t cancel but I could call the company and ask to reschedule. I called 48 hours prior to my excursion (I have pics of the text chat) I called company, because it was busy season not only could I not cancel but I could not reschedule. So I was disappointed in the company because it was an honest mistake and I still paid for an excursion I couldn’t possibly make because the cruise was there the day before. If you book an excursion with the cruise line the companies work with the cruise line schedule fyi. Lesson learned. Please make sure you read the fine print. When they say no refunds.
