Garrin our guide was great and very knowledgeable. He made this adventure educational and fun. We saw the most beautiful sights and wildlife. The whales were awesome.

We had an amazing day exploring with Maureen!!! We saw lots of whales, otters, eagles & seals. Had an absolutely beautiful view and learned a lot about the local Sitka area and native animals. Would highly recommend!!

Tour was really good eventhough the weather wasn't optimum (not operators faul), Maureen (Capitan) explained a lot about the tour, we got the chance to see Otters, Sea lions and some whales.
It's important to know that is not 100% sure you will see wild life, it's all about timing and luck, remember this is not an aquarium or reserve.

Great tour and guide! We saw a family of sea lions, plenty of otters, and got pretty close to 3 whales! The boat ride was fun and comfortable and Maureen our guide was super knowledgeable. Fun for the whole family which included our 6 & 8 year old children. Would highly recommend!

Jaren was a great captain who shared lovely personal stories of his various adventures in and around Sitka. His understanding and respect of the humpback whales was inspiring. He expertly navigated around 2 whales who were feeding and brought us mere feet from their surfacing, which was a once in a lifetime experience. Additionally, we spotted a huge raft of sea otters, harbor seals, a bear on a beach, jumping salmon, jellyfish, and bald eagles. We felt completely confident in his ability to keep us safe while searching for wildlife with our 4 children onboard.

Nice tour, debated on what I should write here, but in the end the fine print says verbatim and I feel as a consumer you should know before you go (wish I did), “this is a private tour/activity only your group will participate”. Buyer beware this is not private they invited two additional guests to join us for convenience of the operator and what seemed to be cost and time savings for himself. This ad is extremely misleading and I would utilize other operators in the area if I were you, there are better tour operators in the same area right outside the bus drop off. I’ve written about 2 reviews on anything in the last ten years, this one was egregious and needed to be called out, sorry!

Captain Jaren here. Thank you for bringing your concerns to my attention. On this particular day my 2 afternoon guests had a conflict and couldn't make their tour, so I was trying to be accommodating. I did check with you beforehand to make sure that it was ok for them to join our tour which you confirmed. Had I known this would've ruined your experience I would not have added them to our tour. The viator wording did say "private tour" and on most tours they are private. Being that our boats hold 6 people max (standard for wildlife viewing vessels in this area), the tours are largely private and occasionally, groups have happily shared this experience. So I never thought the viator wording was an issue. Since your review I have changed the booking details from "private" to "not private".
We are definitely not a company who tries to scam people. We care deeply about sharing our home with guests in the most personable and respectful way possible. In this instance, I was just trying to be overly accommodating and sincerely apologize you feel this way. I hope you were able to enjoy your time on the water and in Sitka. I have tried to reach out personally, please feel free to reach out anytime if you’d like to discuss this further.

I loved seeing the wildlife and the hidden spots that would not be on a larger tour. Maureen was a fantastic tour guide with fantastic knowledgeable of the area and wonderful stories. Highly recommend this tour!
