Very Nice Tour
Danielle_S, Juni 2019
This trip was very nice. The drive picked us up right on time, and it was a 2 hour drive that he broke up with a very pretty lake viewpoint in the middle. The tour guide Abdul Salam was nice and informative, but some of the information he gave may have not been true. We did have enough time to take pictures but didnt end up having lunch until 3pm which was a bit late.
Day trip to the blue city
Bruce_T, Juni 2019
Really enjoyed this trip. The drive to the city was very interesting. The guide in the city took us on a comfortable pace through many different parts of the city. Stopping often to point out items of interest about the culture and giving a detailed description of the background and meaning. Both the guide and the driver coordinated their portions of the tour to make sure we had the opportunity to see the maximum amount of the city, but still stay on schedule with our ship's departure schedule.
False Advertising
Amanda D, Mai 2019
Beware. This is NOT a private guided trip OR tour. You also will not actually get any free time to shop or visit anything on your own. I spent a significant amount of time researching options, and spent a significant amount more money to do this tour and have a private driver and guide, and free time, as advertised on this website. We were in a mixed language group (NOT private), given an hour and a half tour, then required to eat lunch somewhere that I would not have picked. After that, our driver said we had 20 minutes to look at the extremely touristy little shops near our assigned restaurant, and we were not allowed to go anywhere else. I have filed a complaint, and at this point the only resolution offered has been $13 refund. I will update my review as this is resolved, but as of now I would not only recommend NOT booking this tour, I would NOT recommend booking ANYTHING through Viator as they have been completely unhelpful in resolving this issue of what is very clearly false advertising. I spent a week in Morocco and this was the part of the trip I was most looking forward to, only to be the most disappointed.

We felt that the tour did not like it This tour is not private, also you have had the luck to have a private guide just for you during the tour in Chefchaouen. what else you comment does not make any sense, we know that there are certain clients who always look for free trips, making complaints and negative comments. a cordial greeting, Ali
Beautiful.

Easy going sort of tour. We went on a Friday which is couscous day so it was fairly quiet. The trip there was a manic drive with lots of overtaking. The restaurant for lunch was nice. Wear a cute outfit for photos! The guide is local and has a fair bit of knowledge - he knew the Instagram spots. Please be respectful of the locals when taking photos. They don’t mind you taking photos of the buildings but they don’t want to be photographed.
Good tour but a few things to watch out for

Overall we were happy with our tour, with our driver being on time at our hotel pickup and drop off. He was very talkative. The tour started with a local once we got to Chaouen, with a local giving us a walk around the city. There's a few things to be mindful of - the guided tour was only around 1-1.5 hrs around Chaouen, with our guide leaving us at lunch time for free time (which was all good) as he went off to get lunch for a friend. The guide will also take you to two of his friend's stores and they will ask you if you want to buy their carpets, so make sure you say no thank you. The tour guide will also ask you for a tip at the end of the tour, which we were slightly annoyed about given we'd already paid for the trip. But overall it was worth having the tour from Tangier!

Overall, we had a great day and were glad we did this tour. Having never been to Morocco, it was a fascinating experience. Our driver Jamal was very nice and an excellent driver. It's about a 2 hour drive from Tangier to Chefchaouen with some interesting scenery along the way. Our guide there was Mostafa. He is a Chefchaouen native and was very nice, knowledgable, funny and spoke English quite well. About the only thing we didn't like and the reason I didn't rate this tour 5 stars is the part of the tour where they took us to a carpet shop. Mostafa asked if we wanted to go to a Berber Market and it sounded interesting so we said yes. It wasn't what we expected. They sat us down and gave us tea and kept showing us different rugs and things, which were beautiful. They were fairly nice but it did get a little uncomfortable and was somewhat of a buzz kill to what had been up to that point, a wonderful tour. If you have no interest in rugs/carpets , I would recommend being more aggressive about saying no. We were trying to be polite, which probably subjected us to a longer sales presentation than if we just said no from the beginning. What made up for it was the outstanding lunch we had at the place Mostafa recommended. Outstanding Moroccan cuisine and very affordable for the quality of the food and service. Overall, Chefchaouen is a beautiful place and well worth the visit.

My driver and tour guide were very professional and knowledgeable. Chefchaouen is a beautiful village to tour. Amazing photos, lots of walking and great shopping that is cheaper than the bigger cities. The people dont harass you to purchase items from their shops. Lots of authentic items and memories for a lifetime. I would visit Chefchaouen over and over because its so unique. Its like going back in time and feeling like you were there in the early days.

If your visiting Tangier, Chefchaouen is simply not to be missed. You can check out the photos online to give you an idea, but if you really want to see the city in person, a walking tour is the way to go. This tour worked out great: a short 1 - 2 hour drive to Chefchaouen, a few hours with a guide to point out all the most scenic streets, doorways, and other locations to really soak up the beauty including a nice overlook of the city and take great pictures, then back to Tangier - with stops each way for coffee and a nice meal at your own expense. The driver was very friendly and gregarious and had excellent English, and the guide was great at pointing out all the best sights. Highly recommended!

it's not worth the money at all, I have a guide who had other motives for example he was giving me shortened time- frames for chaouen telling me I have to finish by 2 pm, and then wants me to pay extra to take me to Asila. I wish I felt a little freedom more to explore Chaouen... he was also trying to sell me some weed, I mean why would I want that esp in a muslim country where everything is almost illegal, ugh!!!
