Awesome day tour in Tangier

We had a great tour in Tangier. Ali was incredibly professional. He contacted us a day before to confirm everything and even offered to pick us up from the airport. He showed us so many lovely sights in the city, arranged a fantastic traditional lunch and took us to Medina where he helped us negotiate prices. He had a driver who was also lovely and was willing to tailor the tour to our requests. I highly recommend Ali and his tours to anyone visiting Morocco!

We really enjoyed seeing the sights of Tangier. We got some lovely pictures and the camel riding was a definite highlight. Two things kept us from giving 5 stars: 1.) The tour directed us to merchants who had arrangements with our guide and we felt pressure to buy. We would have been happier just shopping in the Medina ourselves with a guide to show us where to go rather than "preferred" shops 2.) Lunch was at our expense, but we were dropped at a restaurant of the guides choosing. Either include lunch in the tour or give me options.

Hello, how are you my friends ? We will answer you why you did not give us 5 stars on your visit to Tangier. First our reviews they are all good and the problem was that on the first day of Ramadan all the shops were closed, only one restaurant was open with no option for me to tell you go there or here, and we were lucky when we found it open, and you said you were sick from the food of the cruise ship, and when we were in the car you said that you wanted to visit the food market because you are interested in that, and we fulfilled your request to take you there, and there you felt pressure on the part of the seller, and if you didn't say take us there we wouldn't have taken you there in any case . So,thank you so much for everything with our best wishes!

We appreciated the attentive guides, Ali our tour director, and our driver Abdullah. They made touring fun, informative, and very memorable. We enjoyed visiting the many sites in beautiful Tangier, shopping in the medina, and a special camel ride on the beach. It was such a worthwhile tour. We had amazing snacks and a wonderful lunch. We could never have seen so much on our own. Pick up and drop off were smooth. Our guides felt like family by the end of our day.

We booked this based off the good reviews. We were not disappointed. Everything was perfect. We even showed up early and they were still there ready for us. Foad is GREAT! He knows so much, speaks many languages and took us to all the best places and gladly took as many photos as we wanted. We loved the camel ride and the place he took us for lunch was awesome and such an authentic Moroccan experience. We also got to meet Ali who I think is the boss and he was so kind and had such good energy. Communication was great through What’s App. Definitely definitely book with these guys!

We really enjoyed our day in Tangier! It is a beautiful city and the people are welcoming. Ali checked in with me by phone the day before to let me know where to meet our guide, Hassan. It felt nice to have that personal touch. Hassan met us at the port, and we spent the day with him and his driver going through the city. He gave us historical context for every place we stopped, which we appreciated. He was very warm, respectful, and accommodating, and wanted to ensure we had the best experience. We had a yummy meal, where the restaurant owner extended great hospitality and brought us a sampling of many authentic Moroccan dishes with plenty to eat for all. Everywhere we went, we were well taken care of! One unexpected highlight was seeing the incredible diversity and quality of produce, fish, and meats in the souk. The tour does include shopping opportunities for local goods and wares, which may be uncomfortable for some people if not intending to spend. Hassan took us to reputable shops and helped us negotiate with the owners, but you may want to discuss up front what you have interest in looking at versus not so you are efficient with your time. It's a good idea to have enough cash on hand for tipping, as the tourism industry is in a recovery phase after the Covid pause, and gratuities are well-earned and much appreciated by all! We highly recommend booking this tour, especially for those only ferrying over from Spain for the day, as we were!

We only had a couple of days in Tangier so this tour was a brilliant way of seeing all the main sites in the city, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone in Tangier with limited time. We were picked up on time from our hotel in a comfortable vehicle, with water provided throughout the day and a driver and tour guide who were very friendly. Our guide was called Hassan and he was fantastic! He spoke great English and had in-depth knowledge of the area so was really able to bring the city to life. The tour also took in some opportunities to buy gifts and other Moroccan produce like oils and spices, ceramics, and carpets although I think its helpful to give your guide an idea of the sort of thing you might be interested in. The whole tour lasted close to 7 hours including lunch (tagine chicken/lamb) with about half of that time in the Medina, so there is quite a lot of walking involved. The tour was so good, and Hassan was such a great guide, that we opted to book with this company for the next day to go to Chefchaouen (another great trip) - of course we asked for Hassan to be our guide!

Wonderful tour! We enjoyed every minute of it, and learned so much about the city and Moroccan culture. Said (our guide) was well spoken, very patient, and had so many fun tidbits of information. Every part of the tour was well-planned, never had any feeling of being rushed or hurried through the different attractions. Lunch was also fantastic, and a great experience. Truly enjoyed our time in Morocco and already want to visit again!

Ali was a wonderful guide. We saw so much of the city with the limited time we had due to our cruise port timing. We'll planned tour with so many sites including caves, camels, breakfast, lunch, transportation, rugs, spices and the city's finest flavors. Very disappointed in this trip. We booked in advance and we’re contacted to say there were 3 cruise ships in town at the same time as our tour. Instead we were taken 45 minutes out of town to a very small Medina outside of Tangier. We had to pay €30 for lunch which I thought was included and the lunch was not nice. By the time we got back to tangier it was too late for me to see the Medina or do the camel ride. And our tour guide was not Ali and his representative was average. Ali should have recommended we cancel this trip if he couldn’t accommodate us because of the cruise ships. It was an expensive disappointing day.

Indeed, the day of your visit, there were many tours scheduled in the Kasbah and the Berber markets. These tours were for big groups. To avoid wasting your time queuing at each attraction because there were many visitors in Tangier, we decided to adapt the visit and modify the itinerary for your convenience. We added an extra transport to take you to Asilah. Its Medina is less crowded on a Cruise ship day. We supplied this extra service without asking you for any additional charge. Unfortunately you didn't like the result. It is for this reason that we asked VIATOR to stop the payment, to contact you and to fully refund your payment. Your satisfaction is our priority. Nice tour given by Majid, whom we thoroughly enjoyed. He spoke great American English and knew a lot of interesting history of the city. Spent a little more time in restaurants than we would have preferred and unfortunately, the Cave of Hercules was closed for the day. Did the camel ride and was disconcerted to see the guide whacking the camels with a stick. Otherwise it was a great tour, seeing much of old Tangier. Majid met us at the ferry terminal and made sure we were safe the entire day by keeping track of the five of us as we wandered the narrow streets of the Kasbah and the Medina. He also explained how to say hello and thank you, and more importantly how to say no, thank you. He then got us back to the terminal at just the right time to queue up for the ride back to Spain. Ali was accommodating and kept in touch with us leading up to the trip and answered our questions before our arrival. October is a good time to visit as the crowds were sparse and the weather was perfect.

Ali was amazing, he picked us up from our hotel, then proceeded to take us to some really beautiful places in Tangier. We got to ride a camel on the beach. we got to eat some really good Moroccan food. The next day we were leaving for Marrakesh and he made arrangements for us to be picked up from the train station and be taken to our hotel, he also made tour arrangements for us to enjoy while in Marrakesh.

Outstanding Tour in an Amazing Country

We were met at the ferry by Majid and our driver, Mustafa. Majid spoke perfect English and our first stop was a oceanside breakfast at a resort. Our guide instructed us to order anything we wished. Next we drove through the streets of Tangier stopping at multiple viewing sites of this beautiful city. Majid was very knowledgeable and was passionate about sharing his country. Next we drove to the beach for our guided camel ride, which may have been our highlight with great pictures and videos! From there we stopped at Hercules Cave and then on to the Kasbah. Majid easily led us through this maze and individualized our trip by taking us to shops and stops that we expressed interest in. Our lunch at Restaurant Vandalucia was superb! The owner insisted on serving us the best of everything so we would know Moroccan foods. (We even purchased our own tangene pot so we could try it at home!) Majid even bought us olives and pitas to take back on the ferry before leaving! Couldn't have been a better day and we are excited to share our good memories of Tangier with our families and friends. We have lived in Morocco for just over a year now and this was one of the best tours we have had the pleasure of taking; it is clear that Ali has a passion for tourism and loves the city where he lives! Our guide for this tour was Abdul, and he was enthusiastic to spend the day with us and share the best parts of Tangier and the surrounding area. Because of our pick-up location, we started the tour by heading to the Hercules caves; after that we headed to Cap Spartel where we were treated to a nice snack and some delicious mint tea. With a nice boost of energy, we then made our way to Perdicaris Park to look at the amazing views and then off to the beach for a camel ride (all of this before lunch!!!). It was at this point that Ali drove to the beach to meet us personally to ensure that the tour met our expectations (does customer service get any better than this!?!?!?!). After the beach, we headed off to the Kasbah and the Medina where we were treated to a meal that I am sure is fit for royalty (I would be remiss not to mention Restaurant Vandalucia and their amazing food and service). In summary, it was a fantastic day, and I would recommend this tour to anyone who is even remotely interested in touring Tangier and the surrounding area. Thank you to Ali and Abdul for treating us so well and ensuring that we had the best day possible.
