How well Hobbiton is set out and how well it is run. Nic is very knowledgeable and accomodating to all on the tour. I would recommend to anyone especially enthusiasts.

I Would Do It Again

We were kept updated by regular email prior to our tour. We were met at the appointed time in a clean, serviceable vehicle with a cheerful, friendly and competent driver. Her local knowledge was fantastic and she encouraged questions. We had some spare time on the return trip so our driver suggested a side visit to a small park with a beautiful water fall. The side trip was a great end to the day. At Hobbiton words cannot describe how good that place. The whole visit from start to finish was carried out with almost military precision. The tour guide (Michael) was brilliant, funny and engaging. He assisted with taking pictures, pointed out various quirky facts and then served me a complimentary ale in the Green Dragon. Lovers of the Lord of the Rings will love this tour. There is also something for those not familiar with the books or movie. We were among the first to enter the Hobbit Holes, these are a highlight of the tour. Overall a great day out that I recommend to anyone interested. I learned it's a dangerous life for a chickens 🐔!

Hobbiton Tour from Tauranga

This trip to Hobbiton was the highlight of my NZ holiday. Russell from Wicked Wanders was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The tour around Tauranga was interesting, as was the scenic drive to Matamata, where the Hobbiton staff took over. Hobbiton was absolutely fantastic. After lunch at theHobbiton cafe, we stopped at beautiful Maclaren Falls for a short rainforest walk, where we saw glow worms and the iconic silver fern. I highly recommend this day trip.

What a great experience! I highly recommend this trip to everyone! My daughter and I loved every minute of it. Due to the time of year, we were the only two on the tour. So thankful that Russell took us, I'm sure he could just as easily have said two isn't enough to make it worthwhile. But take us he did and it was fantastic. Seeing Hobbiton was a dream come true. We so appreciated Russell's expertise, bits of extra information, and helpful nature. Can't recommend this trip highly enough.

Hobbiton was exceptional!! Visit the actual Shire as seen in the Hobbit and LotR trilogies. Preserved in its perfection! And our Wicked Wanderer Nicolle was an absolutely delightful person - we were ahead of schedule so she got us an earlier tour! She is a free up in Auckland and showed us all the local favorite spots. She made the top of the list for all our honeymoon memories
