Wir fuhren von Taupo nach Waitomo über Mangakino, atemberaubende Landschaft! Die Ruakura geführte Wanderung ist ein Muss! Mitch, unser Führer, war sachkundig, leicht zu kommunizieren und auch komisch. Alles in allem ein großartiger Kerl, der eine Leidenschaft für das hat, was er tut. Die Höhlen, wow. Bereiten Sie sich auf eine kathedralenähnliche Erfahrung mit atemberaubenden Formationen, unterirdischen Flüssen und Bächen vor. Das Gehen ist einfach aufgrund der ausgezeichneten sicheren Gehwege, die rollstuhlfreundlich sind. Die Glühwürmchen waren das i-Tüpfelchen. Wir haben den Loop Track über Kuratau / Turangi gemacht und wieder wow, die Landschaft hat uns nicht enttäuscht. Wir haben am Tag eine solide 10/10

Wir hatten einen ausgezeichneten Reiseleiter, der sich sehr gut mit Ruakuri auskannte. Nachdem wir in beiden Höhlen waren, haben wir diese Tour der in Waitomo vorgezogen.

Great tour, our guide Alicia was very informative and animated. The glow worms were fascinating and beautiful. It was a new experience for us to explore a cave with a river running through it. We appreciated that all lighting is solar-powered, and enjoyed the opportunity to take as many photos as we wanted (no flash, of course!). Mostly level walking other than the spiral ramp up and down, with good footing. A real highlight of our North Island stay.

We decided not to use my partner's mobility scooter and opted for a wheelchair provided and pushed by our guide (Dan). Very good decision due to the low light and some tight turns. The whole place was fascinating and access was superb. Dan was very knowledgeable and informative. Couldn't have asked for more.

Had to take another tour by mistakes from Viator and the operator

A group of 2 seniors and one child went there to redeem tickets at the location 30mins before the tour following everything on the vouchor provided, only told there is no courtesy bus as of full capacity to go to a different location for the actual start. Then the group was offered a shorter and cheaper tour mentioned they are of the same price! With no prior info and no photos can be taken, they toke the tour or as Viator and the Waitomo caves operator failed to provide what they should with misinformation. No refund from Viator even all the info and vouchor provided cannot guarantee the tour, very disappointed.

I think that this excursion was made particularly special because of our tour guide - Joel. He had a great depth of knowledge but wasn't overpowering in his presentation or personality. I felt like I knew so much more about the history and structure of the Waitomo Caves after this experience. Good Job Joel!

Seeing a weta where there’s not supposed to be one, the shapes and colours of all the rocks was glorious and seeing glow worms in the hundreds was fantastic

The explanation by the guide was very good and clear . However I find that the group was a bit too big and many in the back could not listen to what the guide said . The meeting point stated in the website differed from the place we were redirected to go .
