Hiking across the plains
Heather_N, Sept. 2023
Signed up for the hike with my 12 yr old nephew and 81 yr old mom, so wasn’t sure how it would go for such extreme age groups, but it was awesome. I would totally recommend the hike for anyone. Emily was awesome.
Lamar valley hije

The drive to the meet up point was memorable as we saw multitudes of bison crossing the road. We should have worn long pants bc we travelled through knee high scrub brush. Highlight was seeing a brown bear chase a prong horn through the scrub brush at a safe distance. The guide was very informative and entertaining. Overall definitely worth our time!
Yellowstone adventure in Lamar Valley
estellewallace1, Juni 2023
Jason was our guide. It was just my grand daughter any myself on a cloudy, cool day. We were staying in Gardiner in our RV - beautiful spot above the Yellowstone River. Caution - allow extra time for road construction (one way traffic) and wildlife viewers. We finally arrived at the trailhead and Jason promptly offered coffee and hot chocolate along with our lunches. After a thorough safety briefing we were off over Soda Creek and the hills. My grand daughter is very inquisitive and it was very rewarding to watch Jason interact with her. He (many times) pulled out his Rocky Mountain Audubon reference guide, showed her how to use it, and then identified various plants and flowers. We saw pronghorn, bison, ground squirrel, Canadian geese, short neck geese red tail hawk, badger, duck with hatchlings, woodpeckers, and other wildlife. It was a great hike in the cool weather (no rain) and Jason led us to a great spot along the Lamar River for lunch. Jason told us many stories filled with history and a lot of facts regarding wildlife and the area. I had a fun hike and my grand daughter really liked Jason and our hike. I would highly recommend this hike, especially in the Lamar Valley.

It was a fantastic tour. Deep into backtrail, we saw many animals and fun discovery. Guide is super nice and professional! 10/10
Viator did not inform me...
Cecile_T, Juli 2022
Viator did not inform me that the Lamar Valley was cancelled. I am still waiting for my refund. The Lamar Valley is closed due to a flood. The Yellowstone guide claims that they tried to contact me but I have no trace of it. I called them but we cannot leave a message
Antwort des Veranstalters, Aug. 2022
Hi Cecile: We sent you a few messages to your Viator messaging system. Your trip has already been cancelled in the Viator system. If you book with Viator, they also handle the refund. At times, we cannot keep up with our call volumes. In those cases, the best way to contact us is via email. All messages are answered every day.
Do not skip this trip!

We were able to see grizzlies among many other wildlife. Josh and Joel were knowledgeable and fun. Eating by the river was so peaceful. The views were some of the best we have seen in Yellowstone. I would recommend this hike to anyone. It is not difficult and worth every penny
Must do adventure
Donna_W, Okt. 2021
WOW! This is a must do adventure for anyone visiting Yellowstone! Josh was our guide. His amicable and humorous personality made the hike so enjoyable. Josh took us off the typical hiked trail and along bison trails which made the experience feel so special. He was informative; sharing great stories due to his vast knowledge of wildlife and of the history of the area. The Lamar Valley was stunning with the fall colors all around us.
Safari hike
Madhu_O, Sept. 2021
Emily was pleasant. We saw bison & pronghorn but no bears. Good food. We were given a local number by the operator on booking but there is no response from that number. It is hard to contact them for any questions before the hike.

Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the hike. Sorry we missed your call. We are working on hiring a full-time receptionist so we never miss a call during business hours.
Great

Alex was a fantastic guide. We rate this our best excursion in Yellowstone. Buffalo, wolves, badgers, eagles….it was spectacular.
Yellowstone kayak worth it
ERIC_G, Aug. 2021
Excellent trip. Luckily we had calm waters and easy and fun kayaking . Leaders we very friendly and knowledgeable about Yellowstone lake and the park in general. Cool to see geysers from kayak that wouldn’t otherwise see. Highly recommended.
Great hike in Lamar Valley

We loved this hike. Emily Jo did a great job, giving us so much history and information on the area. We loved seeing all the wild life too!
Your are terrible
mike_c, Juli 2021
You guys suck. You booked two tours for me over for an a half hours from my hotel. That means I would’ve been commuting nine hours to each of these excursions. I will never use you again I will tell as many people as I can not to use you.
Antwort des Veranstalters, Juli 2021
Hi Mike. I am a little confused. Your tour is in one month. You called the other day and I moved you to a tour closer to Wilson, Wyoming. If you would like to cancel the tour altogether please let me know.
Wonderful hike but not sure it was worth the $$
Shelly_D, Juni 2021
I would give it a higher review but not sure it was worth the $$. In our lunch we got a warm and mushy lunch meat sandwich on bread that the meat probably would not pass inspection after being unrefrigerated for so long (4+ hours on a warm day) The hiking experience was great but if you offer lunch it should be better thought out. Also would have liked a more experienced guide… not bad though.
Antwort des Veranstalters, Jan. 2022
Thank you for your review. We will be providing a cold pack for people to keep their sandwiches chilled while on the trail on those hot days.
Disappointing!
George_B, Juni 2021
After rushing to get to the tour with road closures the tour started with the guide showing up 30-minutes late. We took numerous breaks and after an 1 hour and 45 minutes of hiking we could still see our cars from the parking lot. We were disappointed the guide had moose and elk antlers hidden in the brush...no big discovery! The exposure to wildlife was limited and better on the car ride to the tour. The entire hike took 6 hours and covered less than 6 miles. Yes it took us one hour to cover one mile through the valley. The hike certainly be done in a couple of hours and our time spent on vacation exploring other areas. Disappointing!
Antwort des Veranstalters, Juni 2021
We are very sorry to hear you were kept waiting. Thank you for your review. Our hikes do move at a slower pace, depending on the group. Sometimes the guides will take some time to look around the beautiful, scenic valley and try to spot some wildlife.
Must Do!
Jeannette_K, Mai 2021
Josh was great. Very knowledgable. We saw so much thanks to him. Saw places we otherwise would not have. Lunch by the river. Can't wait to be back there one day.
WHAT A GREAT DAY!
Pete_G, Mai 2021
My son (22) and I (55M) booked this hike after reading reviews of several companies and it did not disappoint. In fact, it exceeded all expectations! Communication before the day of the hike were great and the directions to the trailhead were spot on. Our guides, Josh and Alex were at the meeting site early and enthusiastically greeted us and the other hikers. They passed around the day’s snacks and lunches along with trekking poles, binoculars and bear spray for everyone. After a brief safety review, we started off on our hike. The valley isn’t like hiking in the mountains, but it’s also not perfectly flat. You’ll need to be in moderate shape even though you’ll stop multiple times for breaks to rest, learn about the flora and fauna and have a snack if you want. We walked about 3 miles before eating the provided lunch which was a turkey and Swiss sandwich, chips and any of the snacks that you might have left. It will take about another 3 hours to make it back to the trailhead to complete the hike. Josh talked to us about the plants animals in the park along with history of the area including how the valley was formed. We saw hundreds of bison, many pronghorn, some grizzlies (from a great distance), bighorns and countless cute little ground squirrels. It was a great day that we’ll never forget. A few pointers: bring your own binoculars if you have good ones , don’t forget a rain jacket, you’ll need plenty of water and sunscreen and make sure your hiking boots are well broken in. I highly recommend this trip!!!
