Our tour guide, Ellie, was fantastic! She was super knowledgeable about all things Harry Potter and York's history, and had great delivery. She made the quizzes fun and manageable too. Was so much better than anticipated. Highly recommend!

Please do not attend this if you’re a Harry Potter fan or not. This is essentially a walking tour of York with random HP trivia. The event title is misleading and is to fool you into booking as HP wasn’t even shot in York. It’s just apparently “inspired” by York. My bad I didn’t end up reading the 1-rated reviews before booking because they were all left as disappointed as we were. We felt like we wasted two hours of our precious time. The guide was funny and nice but it the fact that it wasn’t really anything but a walking tour of York was what was annoying.

Fun walk through highlights of York with an amusing commentary by an enthusiastic guide

Tom (Hagrid) and Libby(?) were FANTASTIC. Funny, knowledgeable and entertaining. Knew a lot of interesting historical facts in addition to all the Harry Potter trivia. My husband who had no interest in Harry Potter enjoyed this tour a lot. I thought it one of the best I’ve ever done on my 6 trips to the UK. Well done.

Worse trip we had spoilt our day

We arrived and someone had come upto us after 10 minutes of being there if we are on the tour. There was no description of what I paid for. We found out its a 2 hour tour walking around. There should of been some description of what the tour was and maybe point out its not good for little ones. We walked and stopped at a few places in York. Non of these seemed like anything to do with Harry potter. It was just a history tour of York the war and Henry the 8th. It was very boring and not ideal at all. I had a family of 9 and we all didn't like it, it was a waste of money. The only thing that was Harry potter was the cards and the first stopping point. It's very frustrating that I had lost out on 80 for something that I could of done myself with abit of research. I am very disappointed and unless you want to know history of York not great!.

Harry Potter and York Experience Walk

Being given a history of York including the landmarks such as the Roman Wall, the ruined Abbey, Dame Judy Dench Walk, the medieval hospital also the Harry Potter film locations and York Minster. The courier Libby was very knowledgeable of the city and Harry Potter. I enjoyed the walk including the quiz. My girlfriend also enjoyed it.

This wasn’t Harry Potter themed at all apart from the fact that you get to answer Harry Potter themed questions when walking around and you’re split into different Hogwarts houses. Other than that I didn’t see no resemblance to the Harry Potter films at all like it says when you book
