What To Expect

Arrive at the Dig This headquarters in Las Vegas to begin this heavy machinery fantasy session. Select the 'Big Dig' to operate a bulldozer or excavator for one hour, or play with both on the 'Mega Dig' option. Choose between an air-conditioned Caterpillar D5G Track-Type Bulldozer or a Caterpillar 3I5CL Hydraulic Excavator.

In the bulldozer, build huge mounds, push gigantic tires and teeter-totter over a mega mound. With the excavator, dig gigantic trenches, stack 2,000 pound tires and play a game of 'Bucket Basketball.'

Begin with a safety briefing and some instruction from the expert staffers, then get outfitted for a neon yellow vest and hardhat. Also, each guest must take a breathalyzer test to ensure they can operate the equipment safely and responsibly.

Next, hop in the cab for some hands-on training so every button and lever makes perfect sense. Then it’s time to ride. Wheeling these machines around the desert might take some getting used to, so there will be a few warm-up exercises to get things going in the right direction — as in digging, trenching, pushing and dragging a haul around the lot.

Want to really test those heavy equipment skills? The instructors will guide guests through a game of ‘Excavator Basketball’ or ‘Bulldozer Teeter-Totter’ just for the fun of it. Also, feel free to tear, dig, rip, claw, grind and drive around as much as desired.

If you're short on time or want a "mini" experience, select from one of the following experiences:
• Mini Excavator Experience (60-minute experience) In the luxury of a climate controlled cab, enjoy the thrill of operating this fun sized, 5.5 ton digger. Dig deep, play excavator basketball and back fill with a blade and bucket.
• Skid Steer Track Loader Experience (60-minute experience) Enjoy moving tons of dirt, stacking tires over a pole and driving an obstacle course in these easy to operate little diggers

At the end of the session, receive an official certificate of completion and have a photo taken to commemorate the event. There’s also a retail store to take home a memento from the day’s activities.

A:Closed-toed shoes are the only clothing requirement. Feel free to wear whatever is comfortable. You might get a little dust on your shoes… but unless you want to lie down and roll in the dirt, you’ll leave squeaky clean.

A:For safety reasons, all machines are for one person. This includes no kids in the cab with adults. There is only one seat! The only exception to this is on the 1-Ton Excavators. Guardians are able to assist their kids if they are under 48” tall.

My husband was a bit skeptical about this when I surprised him with this experience our 6th wedding anniversary. But he had a blast! He had a big grin on his face and giggled all the way back to the hotel. I appreciated that I was given a headset too, so I could hear what was going on and even talk to both my husband and the instructor. Dakota was very clear and encouraging instructor and made us both feel welcome.

Playing with the BIG toys had been on my bucket list for a long time. The hour and a half I spent playing on the excavator was fantastic!!!! Beyond my wildest dreams of fun. I dug a deep hole producing a nice mound of fresh soil, then I moved a stack of truck tires and re-stacked them into a birthday cake and finally I got to play basketball taking each ball off of a cone and dropping it in the tire hoop. I also got to spin the cab of the excavator round and round and do a wheelie. The instructor, Brian, was patient, clear and non intrusive.

Fantastic time. Great thing to do while in Vegas. Would be great for Corporate Team Building. We had a group of three twenty-somethings. Each had a great time. The hosts/ guides were terrific - each providing operating directions, maintaining interest and conversation throughout the session using headsets. A truly enjoyable experience.
