Snorkel with green sea turtles in Oahu's Turtle Canyon on this 2- to 3-hour tour departing from Waikiki. What To Expect

Once aboard the 'Honu Lani', find a spot on the deck and make yourself comfortable for the 15-minute ride to Turtle Canyon. Listen to music on the surround-sound speaker system and enjoy the scenery as Diamond Head comes in to view. Cash in your two included drink tickets for a selection of cocktails, white wine, sparkling wine or beer. Unlimited non-alcoholic drinks are also available. 

Enjoy the sun and the island breeze while you scan the horizon for marine life like spinner dolphins and migrating whales, which pass through the area between December and April. 

The captain will moor the boat at Turtle Canyon, where you will get a safety briefing. Slip in to the water by climbing down a safe stairway off the boat and snorkel among the turtles with your snorkel guide. 

Back on board after your snorkeling adventure, feel free to take a freshwater shower or change in to dry clothing. Enter the the covered cabin for a individualized deli lunch (midday tour only), or hang out on the deck to relax and snap photos of Waikiki and the Ko'olau Mountains as you sail back to shore.

This was such an incredible, surreal experience. The staff were so much fun and so supportive. There was Whitney from the Sacramento, CA area, there was also the young lady from Santa Cruz who was super helpful There was Greg and the other members of the staff that were so helpful on the boat and in the water. I can't wait to come back to HI and do this again, and I wish the staff all the best! They were wonderful.

It was a great time. My daughter and I went. The captain & staff were beyond friendly and very informative. And a lot of fun. We got to see a bunch of turtles and fish. And the the food was good as well.

Overpriced, not safe for kids, current too strong. Saw one turtle head pop out of water. Catamaran was nice, but this was a waste of money and ultimate tourist trap. We saw more sea turtles from the reef in front of our hotel in the rainbow. Perfect free snorkeling.

I was charged $100NZ more than advertised price and couldn’t get a refund. Not happy! The spot for turtles was so over crowded with 6 other boats full of people snorkelling that it was just madness trying to snorkel with other peoples fins in your face and crashing into each other. The boats should space out their time slots to minimise the amount of swimmers in a small area.

The working staff we had spoke very fast for instructions and were not the most friendly. They acted like this was their very first job and almost didn't take things seriously or the guests on board and we felt very rushed with everything. My snorkel mask kept leaking water and I told a crew member and she didn't help me that great but keep telling me the strap is supposed to be on top of your head and to breath it with your nose for it to work. Overall poor bedside manner. Will not do again and not recommend. We saw maybe 3 turtles.

Great experience! The catamaran was clean and modern. There were only about 20 people on the boat and made for a very comfortable and easy experience. The crew were kind and inviting. 15 minutes to and from the reef each way. Drinks and snacks were refreshing. Got to see the turtles up close which was great. My only complaint would be that the reef is overrun with boats and tourists. There were 6 boats and ~100 people in the water in a very small area. Still a great time and very safe but a little crowded.

The guides on the tour and the catamaran were amazing. The transportation was not great. We were dropped off 45 mins before our snorkel began which left us in the heat waiting and then about 35/40 minutes after the snorkel ended again leaving us in the heat without much shade. Other than that the tour was amazing.

Great boat trip, well organised and the equipment was good. We opted for the free transport but I wouldn't bothered if staying so local as it was a very early start which wouldn't have coat much in an Uber. We should have just taken an Uber. Definitely guaranteed to see turtles!

The experience was very good. Our boat wasn’t too full. This allowed the crew to offer more bid their time and drinks. The water was pretty cloudy so we didn’t see a lot of fish and only one turtle. Obviously this was the crew fault. The captain tried a spot away from other boat so that was nice not to be crowded.

The team is as super nice and accommodating. We got to see 2 turtles while snorkeling but the coral had released spores (I think that’s what they said) so the water was a little tough on viability. I really enjoyed it tho.
